Heads up, the all-new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will be unveiled on August 2.
Teased ahead of its launch, the new-generation luxury off-roader will have two front-ends depending on the market. Some markets such as the US will gain retro styling cues, while others such as Japan will have something more modern.
A platform twin of the Lexus GX, the Land Cruiser Prado will take on the same boxy profile as its upscale counterpart but with differentiated fascias and interior.
Toyota hasn’t revealed what powertrains will motivate the all-new Land Cruiser Prado, but it will likely drop its V6 powerplant in favor of a fully 4-cylinder line-up. This includes a 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid and the familiar 2.8-liter 1GD turbo diesel.
The “modern” Land Cruiser Prado face will have less matte black trim and will sport the “T” badge upfront. In other markets, it will spell out, “TOYOTA” as a hark back to models such as the FJ Cruiser and original Land Cruiser.
Headlights though appear to be the same with rectangular LED headlights and horizontal daytime running lights. At the back, it’ll swap out the Lexus GX’s full-width LED taillight bar for standalone brake lamps.
The Land Cruiser Prado also shows off its new bank of off-road-centric switchgear. This includes a locking differential and three 4x4 modes: H4F, H4L, and L4L. It also gets an electronic parking brake.
Doesn't looks as executive as the outgoing model anymore. Ugh. 😩
ReplyDeleteWhat 4x4 as an executive car?
ReplyDeleteItanong mo na lang yan sa mga dearest corrupt politicians natin. xD
DeleteLooks promising. This might finally compel me to let go of my fjc as my daily drive.
DeleteFeels better than the Lexus GX.
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeletePano mo nalaman? naksakay ka na?
DeleteExciting. That rear taillight design reminds me of the modern Pajero though.
ReplyDeleteYes! It blends well with the overall design unlike the Lexus GX which looks like there are hidden boxes below the tail lights.
Delete2.8 is 1gd
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. Corrected that typo.
DeleteTaillight reminds of Pajero fm or bk.
ReplyDeleteHope we get the 2.4 turbo hybrid
ReplyDeleteHi Uly, one of the teaser photos shows lightning striking the Prado's hood. That's a clue that the new Prado will have a hybrid engine.
ReplyDeleteYup. Some are saying it'll be a turbocharged hybrid.
DeleteI'm also guessing that aside from the turbocharged petrol hybrid, the GD Hybrid diesel engine (mild hybrid version of the 2.8L 1GD-FTV) could be introduced by the Prado. Let's see by Aug. 2 then.
