Geely PH Admits To Service Lapses, Vows To Do Better


Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), the exclusive distributor of Geely vehicles in the country has broken its silence on the issue of irate Geely customers and owners on social media.

You can read their statement in full below, but in gist, Geely Philippines is admitting to lapses in addressing customer concerns. They have also revealed that they have reached out to the “customers concerned and that through open communication and understanding, they have come to an amicable solution.”

In addition, the carmaker has proposed a solution: a dedicated hotline email address. Any concerns sent here will be responded to, they promise, in a “maximum of two days.” by emailing the following information to: customer.care@geelyph.com (their official statement actually lacks the .com part):
  • Name
  • Contact Number
  • Model and Variant
  • CS or Plate Number
  • Selling Dealer
  • Servicing Dealer
  • Brief Summary of Concerns

    As I said before in this website, tignan lang natin 5 years from now kung kamusta ang mga Chinese cars. Heto na tayo, almost 5 years from the release of the geely coolray and now their cars are junky , no parts and the service is atrocious.

  4. The car may look good but the aftersales is very "chinese" just like any other car brands from china. Its ironic Sojitz Fuso is a japanese company.

    1. Sojitz G. Sojitz Fuso is the distributor of Fuso trucks and buses. They're two separate but related companies.

    2. how many chinese companies have you directly worked/interacted with? how did you come up with the general statement that "the aftersales is very chinese"? Like you mentioned, Sojitz is a japanese company and they are the distributor. And the distributor is also the company providing aftersales. I am not taking sides, I just don't like your stereotyping. The same can be said with Pinoys pagdating sa, let's say, paggawa ng bahay. Wala pang isang taon, puro crack at water leak na.

  5. Birth pains still for less than 5 years and looking forward for Geely to fix these issues. The car is solid and I'm planning to buy a coolray. Yung internal management issues sa company I hope they can settle that. Pinatagal pa nila kasing mag stepin sa issues ng mga customers kaya bumulusok ang rating sa 1.3 or 1.8?

    2. Fuel pump issues are very common for ALL brands though. While the repainting of a new car is also a common practice by different dealers elsewhere due to storage issues, you'll know what I mean if you've seen where the distributors and dealers keep their inventory of brand-new cars.

    3. I’ve been through 6 cars brands already: Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, Honda and Subaru. Not once did I experience any fuel pump issues. Hell some of the cars are more than 10 years old and I haven’t even touched the fuel filter inside the tank, yet there are no issues.

    4. What I mean by common is that almost all car makers have had to replace a fuel pump under warranty. That's how mass manufacturing works, you'll get lemons from time to time. All the brands you've mentioned, I can assure you they've had to replaced fuel pumps due to manufacturing defects. I'm not a betting man, but I'm willing to wager on this.

    5. Unless you're saying that fuel pump issues plague Geely vehicles? Rather than just a few lemon units, more particularly the Geely Coolray that went viral.

    6. The REAL issue of Geely here was that they bungled their response to a legitimate warranty claim. Fuel pumps are easy to replace, yet the unit has languished in the dealer's premises for about half a year without any progress whatsoever.

    7. Geely mechanics were smart. They treated the coolray like garbage, literally. They probably knew the car they're working on is garbage. The mechanics, advance mag isip kumbaga.

  6. Fuel pump failure are common even on mainstream brands, whats frustrating is the time before car parts will arrived. An average of 6 months parts arrival is the main issue for gĆØely na matagal na diparin nila naaayos till now.

  7. I still prefer buying and owning a Geely vehicle instead of spending money on a DNGA or made in Indonesia vehicle.

    2. There's nothing wrong with daihatsu products, whats with the hate? we got daihatsu taft and still rolling till this day. FYI daihatsu is a solid company, just that it specializing in making small/compact car doesn't justify its products is subpar moreover if you compare to those unproven mainland products. Most daihatsus are worry-free type of vehicle and at least no month after month spareparts issue too.

  9. The geely issue is a common fuel pump failure.
    Nothing to do with the car. Its the service that causes all the rant.
    To be fair with geely- its not a recall. Unlike toyotas and fords which has life treatening recalls and cheats.
    Is it all fair in love and war?

    1. The thing is, car ownership is the experience from buying, daily use, up until the vehicle is sold or scrapped. That a car is well-made should be a given in this day and age. But what good is a nice car if you can't expect timely and effective after-sales support from their dealers? It's fair to call out Geely for bad service but to consider their cars at this point in time would be misplaced bravery.

    Hahaha what's the hate with Geely Coolray? Garbage if you do not have the money to buy one. The problem is the after sales services and not with the car.

  11. The better way to look at this is, what changed? When Geely was launched here in PH, there was a lot of marketing campaign. Then for the last year or so, they are eerily quiet. The timing coincides with this after sales issue. Was there a change in leadership in Sojitz G? Was there an exodus of middle management personnel to other newer players which left Geely PH (Sojitz G) with less tenured middle managers? Was there a shortage in workforce that Geely PH was forced to hire below their standards?

  12. With this, Geely singlehandedly killed the reputation of Chinese vehicles in the Philippines. Those who were hesitant to buy Chinese cars are never gonna buy one. RIP Chinese cars, it was good run. Maybe in the next life.

    Iisa lang tao ang paulit-ulit na naninira sa Chinese cars dito dahil Wigo and Avanza na luma ang kayang bilhin nyan šŸ˜‚
    Puro garbage ang alam sabihin eh yung Toyota GR86 ay sirain ang engine.šŸ˜‚
    Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Rush got fuel pump issues before..Basura din pala yan šŸ˜‚
    Chinese vehicles in the Philippine market are here to stay kaya itigil na ang negativity at insecurity!

    1. Pag nasira yung fuel pump ng toyota, ilang araw pwede mo na idrive dahil may piyesa.

      Yung pinakmamahal mong chinese cars, ilang buwan na lumipas wala pa din piyesa. Di mo magamit. Huhu, iyak.

    2. Yung Toyota namin took almost 2 months bago dumating ang fuel pump kasi all-new ang model at that time, depende talaga sa circumstances. Pero sa kaso naman ng GCR, hindi naman siya all-new model para tumagal ng ganun ang replacement part.

  14. Lahat ng mga bagay nasisira. Pero ang mga Japanese cars mas madali ayusin compared to Chinese to be honest. Kanya kanya tayo reasons for buying a car. Ang downside lang talaga Chinese aftersales and service. Huwag na mag away. After all ang pinaka importante sa kotse ay dapat tumatakbo ito at hindi naka tenga kasi sira.

  15. As of July 16583 units Toyota. Geely 653. Kung ako Geely Corp bahala na mga bumili iwan na sa ere konti lang naman sila. No need to invest more sa Pinas send all the money to mother China.

  16. This official statement is much less reassuring to current and would be Geely owners. They should've committed to an overhaul of their parts inventory management.

    2. Never had problems, both the car and service. Also considering to replace it with the all new Sorento. Sorry to hear if you had bad Kia experience.

      Geely ranks consistently high on JD power dependability surveys among chinese brands, with generally glowing reviews both locally and abroad. It's sad that peeps at Geely PH is potentially squandering the initial traction theyve created - the jury is still out, lets see how they rank in sales in the coming months.

    While Honda at 205PP100.
    Geely is more reliable than honda.
    Its sad that geelys service sucks. Hopefully they will make good of their claim.

To settle the score, Here in ph compare geely emgrand vs honda city? Coolray vs hrv? Azhkarra n okrabanko vs crv? Now tell me whuch one is reliable and durable???
