Success stories among Chinese car manufacturers are hard to come by nowadays, considering the launch of one model after the other. Where does it end and what sets these vehicles apart anymore? GWM has taken up this challenge and gone ahead to introduce what could be the most feature-packed sub-compact SUV on the market yet.
The all-new GWM Haval Jolion DCT Supreme is not only the largest sub-compact in its class, it is also styled to be the luxuriously modern, high performing, and equipped with some of the latest technology that is offered today. Running on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, mated to a 7-speed wet-type DCT, first-time car buyers can expect superior driving capabilities, with an expected maximum output of 141 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque.
The Jolion is dubbed as the “joyful little lion,” and rightly so. Not only is it larger and more imposing in size for its vehicle class, it is also equipped with state-of-the-art exterior amenities, such as LED headlights and uniquely-designed LED turn signal lights. Its elongated frame sits on 18-inch alloy rims, giving the vehicle an added oomph in height. Popping over to the rear, the Jolion features a horizontal detail that emphasizes its width and boot capacity, framed only by Halberd-inspired LED taillights — a novel and old-world contrast to its overall sporty look.
The Haval Jolion takes as much pride on what’s in the cabin as it does with its exterior design. Settling into the cabin is like stepping into a European-inspired framework. The Jolion is modern, with a high-tech, premium feel, given its sporty all-black motif with contrasting stitch elements. It features power-adjust seats, a tilt-adjust steering wheel with steering wheel controls, and comfort amenities, such as automatic climate control with rear vents, a wireless charging pad, and a rotary shift knob.
A unique feature of the all-new Haval Jolion is its triple-display system. As the only subcompact in its class to have this, it combines the three most significant elements in modern driving: a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, a 7-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, and a heads-up display for convenient on-road monitoring.
Adding to its multi-function benefits, the Haval Jolion boasts of generous legroom for rear passengers, which is rare for many sub-compacts, considering proper driver and passenger seating positions. The backseat also has its own fold-down center armrest with cupholders and USB charging ports. For long drives, the cargo hold has space for up to 430 liters, with extra capacity when the rear bench is folded down flat.
Technology is not only about entertainment. More importantly, safety is considered a top priority in the makings of the Haval Jolion. It’s featured-packed for the segment with its Advanced Driver Assist System that can rival more premium brands. The Jolion DCT Supreme is equipped with safety features like Driver Fatigue Monitoring, the latest generation Electronic Stability Program, Adaptive Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Sport Warning. To support unpredictable driving conditions and habits, owners can count on having Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assist, Intelligent Cornering Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Cross Traffic Alert and Braking to assist them. The Jolion also offers drivers a second and third pair of eyes, with the presence of a High Definition 360-degre Panoramic Camera and built-in Mono Camera.
Bringing something new to the table is not simply about being different. It is largely about offering value for money in the most practical and innovative way possible. This is what the all-new GWM Haval Jolion is all about.
