During the launch of the current-generation HR-V, Honda Cars Philippines encountered supply problems brought on the chip shortage and logistics challenges. Finally, there’s good news.
More than year after its launch in April 2022 (and even after the launch of the HR-V RS in September 2022), Honda days stocks are now starting to normalize. Despite the continued strong interest for the compact crossover, Honda says they’ve been able to secure stable stocks to finally meet the Filipino market demand.
Honda Cars attributes the HR-V’s sporty design, fun-to-drive performance, versatility, and advanced technology and safety to be the reasons behind its success in the Philippines.
The HR-V reflects the latest design language of Honda. Standard across all variants are full LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and turn signals, and LED fog lights. An integrated front grille commands presence with a pronounced façade, that matches with the Amp Up design logo found on the RS Turbo and V Turbo variants.
Clean body lines and 17-inch wheels (18 inches for the RS Turbo) provide a strong and purposeful design, complemented by 196 mm of ground clearance (for V Turbo and S CVT). The look is completed at the rear end with a stylish tailgate and full LED taillights across all variants.
The Honda HR-V interior is inspired by a human-centric design language that incorporates sensible ergonomics and is appointed with quality materials. Convenience features include an 8-inch touchscreen display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote engine start, and aircon vents with USB ports for the rear seats.
Also standard are the ULT Seats, giving the owner more flexibility in cargo space. There are three adjustable modes: Utility Mode where the two rear seats can be folded to increase cargo space; Long Mode where the front passenger seat can also be folded down along with the rear seats for even longer items; and Tall Mode – A segment exclusive that allows seat cushions to be flipped up for more vertical space for tall items.
Powering this compact crossover are two engine options: for the S variant, a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine with 121 horsepower and 145 Nm, and for the V and RS, a 1.5-liter DOHC VTEC Turbo 4-cylinder with 177 horsepower and 240 Nm. Both engines are mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Regardless of variants, the HR-V comes with Honda Sensing as standard. This gives owners access to the following safety features: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), and Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN).
For 2024, pricing for the HR-V remain unchanged:

Many buyers moved on and bought a Coolray,Emzoom,GS4,Emkoo,T Cross and CS55 Plus
ReplyDeleteHRV is still a much better buy than the DNGA Yaris Cross and Creta GLS
🤣🤣🤣Hrv buyers are brand conscious and dont want to be seen riding a lowly china cars, coolray maybe but all other china cars you have mention NAH!
DeleteOn their website Toyota listed the Yaris Cross as part of the TNGA platform alongside the Corolla and the CH/R, etc...
DeleteYaris Cross sold by TMPC is made in Indonesia and it uses DNGA platform.
DeleteDNGA is equivalent of those car platforms used in Indian market only by Suzuki,Renault,Nissan and Citroen.
Honda HRV uses the same platform used by the Honda Fit/Jazz
yaris cross V at 1.3M has power mode and dual cvt for better acceleration, 6 airbags, front and back sensors, power front sets, 10.1 inch infotainment with wireless apple carplay and andorid auto, power tailgate n ADAS. Hrv s at 1.4M has 4 airbags, no power sets, 8 inch WIRED apple carplay android, no sensors n no 360 cam, no power tailgate but also has ADAS. now tell us again which one is a better buy, yaris cross V at 1.3M or hrv S at 1.4M
ReplyDeleteBy the way its not personal, just tell us your HONEST opinion now that the features of yaris cross v n hrv s has been known✌✌✌
ReplyDeleteBuksan mo ang hood ng Yaris Cross, kita mo agad na DNGA lang siya. Kung TNGA yan, like sa ibang international markets, malamang maging kasing presyo lang niya ang HRV.
DeleteWhats wrong with DNGA??? Its the most approriate for the price range, its japanese craftmanship/tech thru n thru, new platform nga yan e, GLOBAL, LATEST.
DeleteIf DNGA is really a global platform why don't they sell DNGA vehicles in OECD countries, ex-Japan, then? Why is there a TNGA Yaris Cross for all other markets outside of ASEAN then? Why is the DNGA Yaris Cross available only in ASEAN?
DeleteRaize is sold in Japan. Uses the same DNGA platform.
DeleteI said ex-Japan, excluding Japan. Japan has a unique car culture due to its Kei Car regulations. Outside Japan, ASEAN is the only place where DNGA cars are sold. Toyota does this because it can get away with selling inferior DNGA cars here. It's cheaper to manufacture, hence cheaper selling prices, so they get patronized here regardless of their platform. As you said, it comes down to economies of scale. That's all there is to it. It doesn't mean DNGA is a global platform. More accurately put, it's an oriental platform. TNGA is Toyota's true global platform, they even put their name on said platform to highlight the fact.
DeleteIf you dont want DNGA and you can afford just buy a lexus. For most not so rich pnoy car buyers toyota DNGA is more than enough assurance of toyota reliability and durability over unproven china cars.
DeleteDon't limit yourself in buying a Toyota vehicle only in your whole lifetime
DeleteThere are lots of choices in the market.
Hindi na tayo nasa 1986-1988 na Mitsubishi at Nissan lang ang available na brand new vehicles sa Philippine market.
Most pnoy car buyers 1 lang kaya bilihin(utang pa) so don nlang cila sa proven brand, yong medyo rich they can afford to be more adventurous.
DeleteAs to why we have the DNGA Yaris Cross instead of the TNGA Yaris Cross, it's likely down to manufacturing cost and logistics. The TNGA Yaris Cross has no platform sibling in the region so sourcing it from Japan will be cost prohibitive.
ReplyDeleteOnly ignorant people criticize the DNGA platform.
DeleteToyota wholly owned daihatsu so DNGA is toyota. Pumasa nga sa very strict JDM. Yaris cross has full features with affordable price, thanks to china cars - toyota has up its game.
DeleteOnly people who want better cars criticize the DNGA platform.
DeleteHow exactly is the DNGA platform bad again?
DeleteDNGA vehicles known to have weak structural rigidity that's why they can't be sold in European,American,Australian and Chinese markets.Interior plastics are the lowest kind too as if its a Korean vehicle from 2000's.
DeleteIts the equivalent of Suzuki HEARTECT platform meant for Indian markets.
China fanboys will always criticize. Daihatsu is a way better brand than Chinese unknowns. Let the market decide. China no waiting always available parts lang any waiting. Japs no units but buyers willing to wait than buy low quality Volvo inspired lotus tuned crap.
ReplyDeleteDaihatsu makes unsafe cars now..They're like Maruti Suzuki now which mainly cares about selling substandard unsafe vehicles
DeleteDaihatsu and Suzuki both left China as they won't produce modern and safer vehicles for Chinese car buyers.
Wait...why are we talking about Chinese car buyers now? This is CarGuide.PH not CarGuide.CN.
DeleteBecause for some reason people here engage in tribalism with cars. Who really gives a crap what you drive? Some no-life losers, that's who.
DeleteDaihatsu making unsafe cars???
DeleteRead and understand, its very clear on the article, even on the last part it clearly said 5 STAR
DeleteREAD AND UNDERSTAND!
Barely or not very clear sa article na 5 STAR. Wew it seems you cant accept a very clear fact.
Deleteare PH Spec HR-V's sourced from Indonesia? Honda there recently revealed a new Sand Khaki color, looks cool :)
ReplyDeleteThailand. So far no word if we're getting that new color. Right now, no changes to the available colorways.
DeleteBetter buy a Honda HRV which is a SUV for global markets over DNGA Yaris Cross only meant for lowly Asian markets.
ReplyDeleteWorth noting that if you will, get the variant with the 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating, you need to spring for the HR-V RS.
Deletehttps://www.carguide.ph/2022/09/all-new-honda-hr-v-gets-5-star-rating.html
That's actually our favorite HR-V variant too.
Sales result nlang tingnan, car buyers knew best.
ReplyDeleteHigh sales results doesn't automatically make the vehicle better overall.
DeleteGlad that car buyers now got lots of choices in the market thanks to the arrival of Chinese and Korean vehicles.
Kaya nga marami bumibili kasi proven na reliable and durable thru the decades
DeleteAng 'reliable and durable thru the decades' ay yung mga Corolla, etc. Yung mga lumang nameplates, kumbaga. DNGA vehicles are relatively new, compared to the OG models. Toyota bastardized their own brand by marketing DNGA vehicles as Toyotas, instead of properly marketing them for what they truly are, Daihatsus.
DeleteAvanza is a Daihatsu I think. Its more than a decade old already
DeleteSales result, yes Toyotas win and ride on their so-called reliable brand. But wait til all those cheap tin Daihatsus rust and have kalampags in a few years time. Heck even brand new ones already have interior rattles. Not to mention hard plastics galore. Disgusting is an understatement for these DNGA disasters mudding Toyota's name.
DeleteDNGA has toyota reliability and durability, just look at the taxi avanza umulan umaraw takbo parin. Just look at the roads, many many avanza, wigo, vios best proof of reliability and durability
DeleteWhat are you even going on about? The 1st 2 generations of the Avanza used a Toyota platform, DNGA only started being used in the current gen. Avanza. Same with the Vios, it only started using DNGA this current gen., it used actual Toyota platforms before. Only the Wigo started on a pure Daihatsu platform, the predecessor of DNGA.
DeleteHaven't you see current gen taxi avanza on the road? Its everywhere. You see previous gen avanza, vios, wigo still up and running well thats the real litmus test of reliability and durability. And now with the DNGA it would go even better.
DeleteYour statements are detached from the facts though. I'm not even trying to engage in an argument with you, I just stated the facts. I'm gonna end it here before this drags on like your word war with the other anon yesterday.
DeleteHonda Elevate would be a great companion and alternative to the Honda HRV.
ReplyDeleteJust only sell the HRV in Turbo variants while the Elevate covers the HRV S will left.
EV version of the HRV is also nice
e:Ny1? I'd rather Honda bring in more e:HEV's first. They going to test the waters again with the CR-V Hybrid, let's see how it goes :D. If it goes well I hope they bring in the City e:HEV too
DeleteHCPI isn't interested of selling the City e:HEV here due to its steep pricing
DeleteHonda City Hybrid RS at 1.3 Million Pesos is gonna be a hard sell
Honda Civic e:HEV is likely coming to the Philippine market but it'll likely be priced at 2 Million Pesos.
HCPI was one of the early Japanese car manufacturers to bring in affordable Hybrid vehicle to the Philippine market thanks to the Honda CRZ from 12 years ago.
The article is about honda HRV but people always dragging yaris cross into the topic. This is actually happen too in indo articles xD Actually its a tit for tat between honda and toyota well at least in indonesia. When toyota raize literally the sole player in small suv segment with monthly sales of 1000-2000 units per month beating daihatsu rocky, nissan magnite etc then there it is honda with its WRV. Too, when Honda HRV is the dominant in crossover segment with 2000-ish monthly sales, a market with the likes of hyundai creta, suzuki grand vitara etc which hardly reach 1000 units mark per month then toyota came with yaris cross and it seems paid off. Month of july sales ; yaris cross 1849 units while honda HRV 1509 units. The rivalry which repeat the yaris hatchback vs jazz when both were popular xD this crossover segment is hotly contested with the upcoming mitsubishi xforce. More options is good for the buyer, though.
ReplyDeleteToyota in Indonesia is mostly dominant on MPV segment but they can't beat the Honda Brio and City Hatchback in Indonesia
DeleteSales of HRV slid down due to the SUV being older already
Ok lang din lots of info ma share dito para kahit papano makatulong sa prospective car buyers to decide which of which.
ReplyDeleteHR-V RS Turbo looks really good
ReplyDeleteI want to buy and own one too!
FInally! worth the wait RS Turbo
ReplyDeleteIf am not mistaken hrv rs in thailand has sunroof and power tail gate. Here in us wala, nabarat tayo. Sunroof on hrv rs would be nice
