Dongfeng passenger vehicles has found a Philippine distributor and it’s launching in the Philippines this October 16. Legado Motors will offer Dongfeng’s range of passenger vehicles starting off with their EVs and hybrids.
Formerly the distributor of GAC Motor in the Philippines, Legado Motors considers itself a newcomer in the local automotive industry. However, Dongfeng has realized their potential and has approached them to distribute the brand’s passenger vehicle line-up.
The partnership was sealed at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show where Legado Motors’ VP of Operations, Giovanni Frias, signed a collaboration to import the brand’s electric and hybrid vehicles.
It’s understood that the distributor agreement also includes Dongfeng’s wide portfolio of SUVs, MPVs, and mini-CVs as well.
For his part, Legado Motors CEO Wilbert Lim says he was impressed with Dongfeng’s state-of-the-art green technology, and specifically chose to carry the so-called New Energy Vehicles because of their strong environmental performance.
Partnering with Legado Motors for Dongfeng Philippines is Dr. Jose and Juanita Chua, Ms. Rachel Villaneuva, and Dexter Co.
Dr. Jose Chua and his wife, Dra. Juanita Chua, have long been in the automotive industry, despite their medical profession. Meanwhile, Rachel Villanueva sits as the president of Autoflare. While she started her career as a member of the Viva Hot Babes, she found her true calling in sales where she found great success.
Joining Villanueva on this automotive venture is Dexter Co, a veteran of the industry with almost 19 years of experience. Co owns multiple dealerships across Luzon, and his passion for cars propelled him to become one of the top dealership principals in the country. Together, he and Ms. Rachel Villanueva are known as the power couple of the automotive industry.

ReplyDeleteWow so much Chinese car brands, around 12-15 brands? Talo na yung Japanese and Korean combined yata. All Chinese cars will be into EV in a couple of months or two I think.
ReplyDeleteLegado motors never succeed selling the GAC cars because of lack of dealership expansion and expensive Pricing. They were outgunned by GEELY Coolray alone. Now carrying this again China made Dongfeng Motors, they must price it's vehicles competitively. Much lower than competitions. China made Car is all about Price and feature tech if you want to win the hearts of the buying public period.
