Keeping all official tech specs and details under wraps until then, the French carmaker released exterior and interior photos of its electric-first, all-new compact SUV.

Aimed at the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the e-3008, as the electric version’s called, takes on Peugeot’s new design language. It’s something seen in the 408 before, but here, they’ve notched up on the aggressiveness. The compact LED headlights feature an integrated claw element that stretches down to the grille. The rear is similar to the 408 but is made chunkier, while the roofline’s now tapered for the sake of improving its aero efficiency (Peugeot actually calls the e-3008 a “fastback SUV”).

Confirmed by Peugeot before, the e-3008 switches over to the SLTA Medium platform. Battery sizes is between 87 to 104 kWh. In terms of motors, it’ll come in both dual-motor and single-motor setups. Expected range is about 700 kilometers.

Although the e-3008 has been envisioned an EV first, it’s very likely that Peugeot will continue to build a combustion engine version too for markets outside of Europe. This could mean a mild-hybrid setup pairing its 1.2-liter engine with a 48-volt system.

Inside, the e-3008 gets the newest i-Cockpit design. It keeps the small, low-set steering wheel and high-placed gauge clusters, but here it’s been augmented by a 21-inch high-def panel. There’s also a touch-sensitive panel below it replacing the piano-style keys in the current 3008 (i-Toggle switches). Peugeot will also continue to experiment with interior materials as evidenced by using fabrics and texturized metallic elements inside.
