Toyota Motor Philippines has finally revealed the price of its heavily revamped 2024 Hilux GR Sport. Going head-to-head against the Ford Ranger Raptor for pickup truck supremacy, it comes in with a starting price of just P 2,166,000. Add P 20,000 and you can opt for the single tone Emotional Red color or opt for the new black roof option.
The 2024 Hilux GR Sport gains a “wide track” platform that increases its overall height by 15 mm and its front and tracks by 135 mm at the front and 155 mm at the back. In addition, it gets a retuned suspension and is equipped with larger diameter KYB monotube shock absorbers. Completing the transformation are 17-inch Dakar-style wheels fitted with 265/65R17 tires.
Enhanced visual elements are present throughout the vehicle, starting at the front with a unique black mesh grille contrasted with ‘TOYOTA’ lettering and a GR badge. Over to the sides, powder-coated heavy-duty rock rails made of 2 mm thick steel help protect the door sills and vehicle underbody, even when it’s fully laden.
Inside the cabin, the Hilux GR Sport gains a number of sporty enhancements compared to the rest of the range, starting with a rally-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel complete with paddle shifters, red center stripe, and GR logo. GR logos are also found on the unique front sports seats upholstered in a mix of leather accented and suede trim, matched with grey stitching and red seat belts. Aluminum pedals, a new ‘Technical Mesh’ dashboard ornamentation and a unique GR Sport shift lever complete the changes.
Powering the 2024 Hilux GR Sport is Toyota’s most powerful 1GD tune to date. The 2.8-liter diesel engine produces 224 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque—figures that easily trounce the Ranger Raptor. The accompanying 6-speed automatic has been beefed up to support the extra power and torque.
Toyota will be dropping more details about the Hilux GR Sport along with more info on the revised Hilux range soon, so stay tuned for that one. For now, authorized Toyota dealerships nationwide are accepting orders for the 2024 Hilux.
Ford should bring in the v6 diesel.
ReplyDeleteNot available for Ranger Raptor. They should have brought in the turbo V6 gas though.
DeleteSir Uly, is it worth it to upgrade my 2016 Hilux G to this?
ReplyDeleteThat all depends...if you're using your pickup truck solely for work or mostly for work, then I'd think no. You can pretty much stick to your current Hilux G. But, if you're in the market for the Ranger Raptor, this might be worth a look.
DeleteOr better wait for the next generation?
DeleteExpect the usual shady and greedy salespeople from Toyota dealers and scalpers are gonna do something to increase the MSRP of it.
ReplyDeleteUhh this aint the type of car that scalpers will buy. Ano tingin mo dito gr yaris o civic rype R?
DeleteYou'd be surprised how many will gush over this Hilux GR-S knowing Filipinos. Considering it is the closest any midsize pickup has been to the Ford Ranger Raptor + it has the Toyota badge, buyers will pick it up
DeleteThis is a mass production car. Wtf are you talking about
DeleteAnon 11:26pm - I believe the Hi-Ace is also considered a mass production car yet the Super Grandia Elite variant actually has a longer waiting time than even the LC300 or the Prado.
DeleteTell that to the Hiace Super Grandia,Camry HEV,RAV4 HEV,Alphard,LC300,GR Yaris,GR86 and Prado buyers who are complaining that are being overpriced by some Toyota salespeople and scalpers.
DeleteThis bad practice is already known on social media.
Ganyan talaga pag proven na maganda, reliable and durable ang products pinipilahan. yong ibang brand kahit cige promo low down financing nilalangaw parin.
DeleteYep, a pimped up delivery van here in the Philippines is sought after more than you think. What more an almost Ranger Raptor competitor from Toyota? You underestimate the desirability of Toyotas here in PH, whether they are actually good or not.
DeleteHope they will make a manual transmission version with rear coil spring suspension.
DeleteSlim chance it'll happen as the current generation of Hilux will be gone next year
DeleteHilux is known to be vehicles used by terrorist groups like Taliban from Afghanistan.
Yeah even isis n taliban preffered hilux for its reliability/durability, easy to maintain, indeed indestructible they say.
DeleteIlabas na ang ranger raptor v6
ReplyDeleteHilux big displacement 2.8L is battle tested, indestructible. raptor 2.0L even if twin turbo is underpowered for its size and heavy weight, it wont last long. Besides, ford has never been known for reliability, gas guzzler it is. Any news on raptor and everest recall here? Australia had just recalled raptor and everest
ReplyDeleteWas it a Raptor that was puffing up huge smoke on Skyway last week?
ReplyDeleteYupp, but do toyotas didn't experience similar issue?
DeleteCurious lang, so far in socmed, I saw Isuzu, Montero, and then this Raptor.
Dapat po sa size ng gulong baguhin. Ang recommended size is 285/70R17
ReplyDeleteIts the fox suspension that youre paying for in the raptor. The hilux doesnt have it. End of story.
ReplyDelete🤣🤣🤣Not so fast...suspension can easily be modified, better chose a powerful reliable/durble engine and responsive transmission .
DeleteYeah the fox suspension does it's job well when the drivetrain dies early
ReplyDeleteI think there is a v6 turbo diesel for the ranger in Australia. Although not a Raptor basically it can fit. I don’t think you can squeeze more power from the 2.0 it is already running at high boost. Need to change the engine to overtake hilux
ReplyDeleteThat TOYOTA badge on the front grille looks sooo weak.
ReplyDeleteIt seems unsure whether it wants to scream like the Raptor's or still wants to be the conservative brand that Toyota usually is.
Wow haters will nitpick even the grill huh? Brand equity tawag dyan something mga china cars at ford wala. At least Hindi naglagay 4 na exhaust tips and sticker tuned. Lazada racing special.
ReplyDeleteWeh, most likely compensating for something lang ang mga Toyota boys kaya gusto nila big, bold letters ang brand nila.
Deletecompensating for a bigger stronger engine which is the most powerful in its class. hindi puro bukol lang na fender flares at padding sa katawan wala naman performance.
ReplyDeleteDaming alam sa most powerful in its class. Pag nilabas ung petrol v6 ng ranger raptor puro kain alikabok naman lahat yan.
ReplyDeleteWhy is everyone talkung about performance? These are 3rd world pick up trucks. They are not performance cars, they are utility vehicles. How its fast, or rather SLOW on the highway is irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteFord Ranger Raptor is a global product
DeleteHilux and Navara are really old now
It seems ford ph has not issued recall advisory and just quitely recalling raptors and everest
