The controversially styled 2024 Mazda2 has quietly arrived at local Mazda showrooms nationwide, and can be yours for P 1,250,000.
Thankfully, the Philippine spec hatchback doesn’t get the universally loathed body-colored grille. Instead, the sole Sport model gets the gloss black mesh grille. Together with the new bumper, it creates a be mustached look. An asymmetric placed color accent on the front grille and bumpers (yes, including the back) is supposed to enhance its youthful appearance. The 16-inch alloy wheels also feature a new diamond-cut design. A black carbon fiber wrap on the roof completes the changes.
Inside, the 2024 Mazda2’s sharp black interior also has contrasting red highlights that extend to the seat stitching and air vent surrounds. The seats themselves now have leather and suede upholstery making elevating the sporty feel. Enhancements were made in the form of improved cabin sealing reducing the NVH making it equally adept for short or long drives.
Powering the Mazda2 is the tried-and-tested 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G mated to a 6-speed automatic. This powerplant makes 110 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque—peppy numbers considering this sub-compact hatchback’s overall size and mass. For improved handling, there’s G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC-Plus) that adds brake-based torque vectoring as well as a retuned rear suspension with urethane top mounts in the shock absorber and retuned rear damper valves. The steering has also been recalibrated.
As for safety, the 2024 Mazda2 comes with a complete suite of i-Activsense including Front and Rear Smart City Brake Support, Forward Obstruction Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind-spot Monitoring, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert.
The 2024 Mazda2 comes in eight shades: Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, Snowflake White Pearl, Platinum Quartz, Jet Black, and new for 2024, Aero Gray.

Price of it is just fine as its a fully loaded and very safe vehicle
ReplyDeleteNo its not. Its overpriced as hell. Worse, its not made in Japan like the other mazda models. Just a few more, you can already get the mazda 3.
DeleteGood luck buying a Mazda 3 on the same day as you'll wait months for it and that one lacked ADAS.😂
DeleteVolume seller of Mazda Philippines right now is the BT-50 which is a made in Thailand rebadged D-Max pickup truck.
Price of the fully loaded Mazda 2 is just fine.
Who the hell needs ADAS in the Philippines? Seriously
Delete1.5m for a Mazda3? No thx. 1.2m for a Mazda2? Damn. 10 year old KODO style. Every mazda from 2014 to 2024 looks the same lol.
DeleteNearly ₱1.3M for a nearly decade-old subcompact?! Outrageous.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see Mazda bring back the 2 locally. But the price though is on the high side.
ReplyDeleteTime for all new model. This is just very very outdated eco car mazda 2 but with that price? Come on...
ReplyDeleteToyota is selling a decade old Vios at 1.1 Million Pesos without ADAS
DeleteKung hatchback lang naman, at that price you are way better off with the Honda City hatchback TOTL. Masmura pa.
ReplyDeleteCity Hatchback RS is set to get an update with ADAS next year
DeleteExpect the price of it to be at around 1.2 Million Pesos.
Still a better buy.
DeleteWell I wish I had the money to buy one. Till then the bus driver will be my chauffeur :)
ReplyDeleteMy Mazda 2 can compete with hybid cars for fuel efficiency. my 2016 mazda 2 1.5l engine has 20km per liter consumption in highway /15 km/liter in everyday driving!
ReplyDeletemine is a 2019 mazda 2 consumes 24 on hiway. 20 if fully occupied.
Deletemazda 2 won the 2008 world car of the year beating ford mondeo and merces benz c-class.! its not an ordinary car compare to toyota honda, suzuki and other japanese cars
ReplyDeleteIt's already 2023.
DeleteYeah, yeah, we get it. You're proud of your Mazda2. No need to flood the comments.
ReplyDeleteA good econobox 10 years ago. Not anymore now lol why does this still exist in 2023
ReplyDeleteMazda 2 still drives better than the City Hatchback and ancient Vios based Yaris Hatchback
DeleteThese folks obviously have never driven a Mazda. Everything just comes together in perfect harmony once you drive it.
ReplyDeleteDriven one of those more affordable turbocharged chinese crossovers. Quick, yes but the jinba ittai feeling of a Mazda is just not there.
DeleteReliability aside, the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus drives better than Mazda vehicles.
DeleteBetween my Mazda CX-5 AWD and Ford Territory Titanium X, I actually prefer driving the Ford. I only use the Mazda for coding these days. Before getting the Ford, the Mazda was my daily driver.
DeleteGanyan talaga pag bago paborito. But any way both are nice cars specially the tory sunroof.👍👍👍
DeleteToo expensive and not even a hybrid
