Honda is bringing back the Prelude as part of their electrification plans. Realizing that sporty models is part of their corporate DNA, the Japanese manufacturer realized that their shift towards purely electric models won’t be complete without it.
The Prelude Concept, which looks close to production ready, embodies Honda’s “Joy of Driving” attitude. The Prelude is close to the Civic in terms of overall size and actually wears styling that’s seen in current Honda model. This lends credence that it can be showroom ready in the next few years. The Prelude wears 20-inch wheels, and behind it, Brembo brakes with blue calipers can be seen peeking out. It also has traditional side view mirrors (not cameras).
As of Honda, dropped the Prelude Concept as a “by the way” at their Japan Mobility Show as they’re showcasing mobility in all its shape and form. Still, Toshihiro Mibe did have this to say about the Prelude Concept.

And the word “prelude” means an “introductory or preceding performance.” This model will become the prelude for our future models which will inherit the “joy of driving” into the full-fledged electrified future and embody Honda’s unalterable sports mindset. The car looks production ready. We might see this in showrooms by late 2024 or early 2025.
