After being quiet for most of the year, things are about to get busy over at Kia. They’ve just confirmed that they’re bringing in the refreshed Seltos for 2024.
Teased on their Facebook page (see below), the updated Seltos was first revealed in June of last year. The upright and boxy character has been retained, but it gets a heavily revised front fascia with changes to the grille and lighting elements. The changes are even more drastic at the back where the taillights are now made to run the entire length of the rear while the lower bumper now sports a more aggressive overfender. New designs for its alloy wheels (either 16 or 18 inches) complete the changes.
Globally, the 2024 Seltos also receives a significantly updated interior which could very well make it to the Philippine model. This includes the addition of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. A floating bezel now integrates it to an equally large 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Towards the center, Kia ditched the traditional gear selector for a rotary dial, confirming the arrival of shift-by-wire tech for the crossover.
In terms of powertrains, the 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle MPI engine continues with a 149 horsepower, 179 Nm output mated to a CVT. Moving up, there’s a turbocharged 1.6-liter making 198 horsepower and 265 Nm mated to an 8-speed automatic.
Given Kia Philippines has already started to tease the arrival of the new Seltos, its launch is imminent. It will likely make its local debut by the end of the year. Earlier, the Korean automaker revealed that they will launch two electrified and two combustion engine vehicles by 2024.

ReplyDeletethe Sportage is long overdue as well tbh. But I think the Carens should be prioritized first due to the popularity of the MPV segment here, it might be the one that gives Kia a sales boost :)
DeleteI’ve actually been seeing hell of a lot more Carnivals than Alphards nowadays too. More luxurious, Better tech, better interior, soo much cheaper, and in my opinion, better looking. I love that Filipinos are finally considering other brands. Toyota has been way too cozy here in the Philippines hence the absolutely ridiculous pricing.

Maybe be bring in the diesel-powered one from the accent?

ReplyDeletemedyo rare hehe but I've seen several na around the metro. A lot of Stonics though, they scored big with that model, I see more of those than the Hyundai Venue
