The Nissan X-Trail Just Got Its First Major Refresh. We're Still Waiting For It

The Philippines is still waiting for the all-new X-Trail to arrive locally, but globally, it’s just undergone its first major refresh. Known as the Rogue in the U.S., it receives a bolder exterior look as well as significant tech upgrades.

Outside, the X-Trail (aka Rogue) gets a refreshed front-end integrating Nissan’s new V-motion grille. At the back, the taillights have been expanded, while the badges are now finished in satin silver. Higher trim variants add gloss-black elements plus wheel sizes up to 19 inches in diameter.

Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless device charging pad, and a new Chestnut Brown option for the leather upholstery. USB Type C ports have also been added for both front and rear occupants.

Speaking about the center screen, the X-Trail’s infotainment system now gets Google services built-in. This means getting Google apps such as Google Maps integrated into the system without needing to pair a phone. iPhone users will still be able to use standard Apple CarPlay, of course in both wired and wireless formats.

Powering the X-Trail for 2024 is a standard 1.5-liter Variable Compression Turbo or VC-Turbo engine paired with a CVT. The VC-Turbo engine continuously adjusts its compression ratio to seamlessly optimize power or efficiency, depending on driver demand. The engine is rated for 201 horsepower and 305 Nm of torque. Standard Idle Stop/Start shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stationary to help save fuel.

The refreshed Rogue / X-Trail goes on sale in early 2024 in the U.S.

    1. I highly doubt you even know how a CVT functions.

  2. The Nissan X-Trail somewhat discreetly disappeared in the Philippine market around sometime in 2021 or 2022 if I'm not mistaken.
