Chery Auto Sees Increased Social Responsibility And Global Growth As Inseparable

Chery International has announced a two-year partnership with UNICEF with the Chinese automaker donating USD 6 million in support of global education programs particularly in China, Mexico, South Afrida, and Turkey.

“We very much appreciate Chery’s support for UNICEF’s education programs,” UNICEF Representative to China Amakobe Sande said. “This will help us provide quality education for some of the most vulnerable and marginalized children in China and around the world. It will also support countries to strengthen their education systems, to better serve children and communities.”

Public welfare has always been a part of Chery’s core brand. For example, in China, Chery established the 21st Century Oriental Son Scholarship for marginalized students, built the Xinqijun Hope Primary School, and even engaged Chery car owners for a motorcade for the benefit of students taking high school and college entrance examinations.

Elsewhere, Chery sponsors youth football schools in Chile. In 2016, when Ecuador experienced a devastating earthquake, Chery not only donated materials to the disaster-stricken areas, but also collaborated with the local government to help disaster-affected children return to classrooms. In South Africa, Chery cared for marginalized children, while in Kazakhstan, it donated to children with skeletal diseases. It even delivered care to children in Iraqi hospitals.

Chetry believes that through developing the public welfare of children and adolescents, they’ll have the opportunity to change their destinies and break the cycle of poverty.

For a long time, Chery has carried out various forms of social responsibility practices in multiple countries worldwide, striving to become a “warm and responsible” automotive brand. It sees its growing role in social responsibility hand in hand with its continuous growth in overseas markets.
