2025 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban Ups The Style, Tech

Chevrolet has updated their big boys: the Tahoe and Suburban for the 2025 model year. Arriving with fresh designs inside and out, it also packs new technology enhancements to help the bowtie brand solidify its lead in North America’s full-size SUV segment.

Both the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban receive a new front-end design with revised lighting. The thinner, yet more prominent look of the DRLs (thanks to an angled prism) creates stronger illumination. Select trims also receive new welcome and walkaway animations as well as animated turn signal indicators. And for the first time, these Chevrolet SUVs get the option of 24-inch wheels.

The updates inside go for a more tech feel. Display screens are the centerpiece of the cabin, starting with an all-new standard 17.7-inch-diagonal freeform infotainment screen paired with the 11-inch-diagonal driver information center.

The screen itself is canted slightly toward the driver for a more commanding feeling of control, while still prioritizing easy access for the front-seat passenger. Designed to be intuitive without sacrificing a clean, sleek design, the team struck the careful balance of physical and digital controls in the cockpit.

Other changes include a new steering wheel design and a redesigned center console with new storage options and a repositioned wireless charging pad.

Under the hood, the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban retains its gasoline-fed 5.3-liter V8 or 6.2-liter V8 options. Meanwhile, the revised 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo diesel offers much more power and torque—305 horsepower and 671 Nm—an increase of 10 percent and 7.6 percent respectively. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic.

The additional grunt is thanks to a retuned turbo compressor, along with new, higher-flow fuel injectors, revised piston-cooling oil jets, new steel pistons, and improved temperature control features with the cooling system’s Active Thermal Management. New sound absorption materials and a tuned air induction system help balance its performance with quietness and improved refinement.

The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban also revises its suspension for more refined ride and handling dynamics. Additional steering calibration improvements offer a confident drive experience across conditions. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control return as available features.

When it comes to safety and driver awareness technology, the Tahoe and Suburban receives Interior Motion Detection that can detect certain types of micro-movements in the cabin. If movement is detected in the vehicle after it is in park and turned off, it can progressively escalate alerts to help raise awareness.

Connected Cameras, an available new feature, comprises a fully integrated network of cameras that allow customers to remotely view the interior and exterior of their vehicle, including 360-degree views of the exterior. Key benefits include automatic Crash Recording; Security Recording; Live View; My Recordings (dash cam functionality); industry-first cloud storage and more.

Production of the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban will take place at GM’s Arlington Assembly plant, in Texas—a facility celebrating 70 years of production in 2024.
