Toyota Is Once Again The Most Valuable Auto Brand In 2023

Toyota is once again the world’s most valuable automotive brand. This is according to Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2023 report.

The Japanese auto giant ranked sixth overall in a list and is just one of three automotive brands in the Top 10—the other two being Mercedes-Benz (#7) and BMW (#10). Elsewhere, the other automotive brands that made the cut include Tesla (#12), Honda (#27), Hyundai (#32), Audi (#45), Porsche (#47), Volkswagen (#50), Ford (#51), Nissan (#63), Ferrari (#70), and Kia (#88).

In total, only 13 brands from the automotive sector were part of the Best Global Brands 2023 report, down from 15 in 2022. Land Rover and Mini disappeared from this year’s ranking.

According to Interbrand, to determine a brand’s value it’s based on three criteria: the financial performance of the branded products or services, the role the brand plays in purchase decisions as well as the brand’s competitive strength and its and its ability to foster loyalty, thereby ensuring sustainable demand and profit into the future.

With a brand value of USD 64.5 billion (up 8 percent from 2022), Toyota retained its top spot in the automotive segment ahead of second-place Mercedes-Benz with USD 61.4 billion (up 9 percent from 2022).

Meanwhile, BMW’s brand value of USD 51.2 billion (up 10 percent from 2022) was enough to keep it in the third spot among automotive brands, while also improving to tenth overall from 13th place in 2022. BMW also managed to overtake Tesla, which dropped to fourth among automotive brands and staying put in 12th overall with a brand value of USD 49.9 billion (up 4 percent from 2022).

Overall, Apple is deemed to be the most valuable brand worth USD 502.68 billion. It is followed by Microsoft in second with USD 316.659 billion, Amazon in third with USD 276.929 billion, Google in fourth with USD 260.260 billion, and Samsung in fifth with 91.407 billion.

  3. Toyota, the car brand embroiled with massive recall issues due to factory defects on its units, cheating at crash tests, selling vehicles with two decade old technology with poor NVH and bad ride quality and treating its customers in ASEAN region as 3rd class citizens by selling vehicles with awful quality at expensive prices.
Chinese car brands are mostly focused on domestic market.

    1. Reputable car brands always doing recall to correct deficiencies/mistakes. never heard a china car brands doing a recall, so it means car buyers of china cars bahala kana sa sarili mo😪😪😪. China car brands have been exporting all over the world but failed miserably due to its proven unreliability. Here in ph lots and lots of china car brands exporting here but still has miniscule market share. Pnoy car buyers preffered reliabilty, durability and ease of maintenance over fancy china cars that easily broke and has junk resale value.
