As far as refreshes go, the updates to the Creta are substantial. The front-end makes it look more like a mini Palisade rather than a mini Tucson. It gets a more upright hood, revised bumpers with a skid plate element, and new headlights as well as DRLs. The rear has been equally changed with the interconnected LED taillights and a bumper with the same built-in skid plate treatment. Capping off the changes are new 16-inch alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna, and puddle lamps integrated into the side view mirrors.

The 2024 Creta has been equally changed inside. The dashboard is completely new and seamlessly integrates the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen—like what’s already seen in other Hyundai models. The AC control cluster (now with dual zone climate control) has been revised and so are the seats with its contrasting color elements and piping detail. The rear seats continue to offer a two-step reclinable feature and can be folded down in a 60/40 split.

Features on the Creta include ventilated seats, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, rear side window shades, a 360-degree camera, and even an 8-speaker Bose sound system. It also gets an electronic parking brake, USB Type C inputs as well as Hyundai Bluelink with Home-to-Car Alexa voice capability.

In terms of safety, the Hyundai SmartSense suite gives the Creta Level 2 autonomous driving capability. The suite includes Forward Collision Assist with Junction Turning support, Forward Collision Warning (with cyclist and pedestrian detection), Blind Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Following Assist, Safe Exit Warning, High Beam Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go support. All variants also receive 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control.

For the Indian market, Hyundai is offering a choice of three powertrains on the Creta. All featuring a displacement of 1.5 liters, they can be had in normally aspirated gas (6-speed manual or CVT), turbocharged gas (DCT), and turbocharged diesel flavors (6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic). Outputs are 115 horsepower and 144 Nm, 160 horsepower and 253 Nm, and 116 horsepower and 250 Nm, respectively. A Drive Mode selectors offers three modes—Normal, Eco, and Sport, while Traction Control modes can be optimized for Snow, Mud, and Sand. Higher variants also get paddle shifters.

As for its ASEAN launch, look for a possible reveal at the Gaikindo Indonesian Auto Show 2024 sometime in the middle of the year.
