Coming from a strong 2023 where their annual sales reached 16,645 units—a 20 percent increase versus 2022, Honda Cars Philippines says they are entering 2024 with an equally positive attitude.
Ms. Rie Miyake, Honda Cars Philippines President says the Japanese brand will broaden the availability of its three key technologies this year: Honda Sensing, Honda Connect, and e:HEV.
These three technologies, all found in the all-new CR-V, will be offered on a new, yet-unnamed model that will arrive within the year.
Looking around what’s on offer around ASEAN, the two likely candidates could be the refreshed Honda Civic or the all-new, 11th generation Honda Accord.
Both the Civic and Accord are already available in some of the Philippines’s ASEAN neighbors, particularly in Thailand where they are assembled.
The Honda Civic, which is due to be refreshed globally this year, was equipped with the e:HEV technology in Thailand starting in late 2022. It swaps out the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine for the same 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle + dual motor system found in the CR-V RS e:HEV. However, the outputs are lower compared to its SUV sibling—184 horsepower and 315 Nm versus 207 horsepower and 335 Nm. Regardless, these figures are higher than the current Civic RS Turbo.
Meanwhile, the all-new Accord was launched in Thailand just last October. The Accord uses the same mechanical setup as the CR-V RS e:HEV with a total system output of 207 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque. Interestingly, the 11th generation executive sedan happened to introduce an RS trim for the first time.
Honda Cars Philippines plans to expand the availability of Honda Sensing, Honda Connect, and e:HEV are aligned with the company’s global vision of achieving zero traffic fatalities and to be carbon neutral by 2050. They have also set a target of 2040 to electrify their entire global line-up.
The new model offerings will come together with the inauguration of three new dealerships this year. They will also break ground on two new locations while revamping or improving the operations of its current dealership network.
Will bring for Honda Car Philippines such as Accord, e:N1, Odyssey, W-RV and Z-RV soon?
ReplyDeleteCivic is has a higher probability :)
ReplyDeleteAlso still hoping that they'll also bring in the e:HEV City....
I bet it will be the HRV. Can’t let toyota have all the fun in the sub compact hybrid SUV space.
ReplyDeleteThose new vehicles are likely the e:HEV Civic and e:HEV Accord
ReplyDeleteGood sales of CRV e:HEV convinced HCPI to bring in more hybrid vehicles in the Philippine market which is good.
Again??? Lame!
