Set to be launched soon in India, where bookings have been opened, the new Creta dons Hyundai’s updated “Sensuous Sportiness” design language. Frankly, it looks like a miniaturized Palisade with its heavily redesigned front end.

The new grille and upright hood are joined by quad-beam LED headlights (still located towards the middle and lower part of the bumpers) and Hyundai’s “Horizon” LED DRLs which now extend to cover the entire width of the front-end (like the Stargazer and Staria). At the back, the refreshed Creta gets an equally revised rear-end with a more SUV-like rear bumper, new taillight clusters, and the same seamless “Horizon” LED treatment.

As for colors, Robust Emerald Pearl joins the palette alongside Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki (which first appeared on the Exter), Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey and one dual-tone color option: Atlas White with Black Roof.

Inside, the new Creta dons a revamped dashboard. Like other modern Hyundais, it boasts of dual LCD screens joined together to form both the gauge cluster and infotainment screen. The climate controls, meanwhile, have been given a more high-tech look and feel with what look to be capacitive buttons. There’s also a new steering wheel and gear lever design, while the traditional hand brakes looks to have migrated to a more modern electronic parking brake system.

Surprisingly, Hyundai has revealed the three engine options for the Creta, at least for the Indian market, ahead of its launch. These choices are a 1.5-liter normally-aspirated MPI gasoline, a turbocharged 1.5-liter direct injected gasoline, and a 1.5-liter common rail direct injection diesel. No outputs were given yet. Spoiling customers with choices, it will be offered in four transmission options. Depending on the powertrain, these could be a 6-speed manual, a CVT, a 7-speed dual clutch, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The refreshed Hyundai Creta is set to launch globally by January 16.
