IC Star Automotive Inc., the official and sole distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the Philippines launches its flagship EV sedan, the EQS. The latest addition to the EQ family that was introduced in the market last year, it comes in one variant: the EQS 450 4Matic AMG.
At the heart of the EQS 450 4Matic is a next-generation 108.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers up to 717 kilometers of range. The dual motor setup produces an outstanding 360 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque enough for a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 5.6 seconds.
The EQS features a Black Panel radiator grille with a three-dimensional Mercedes-Benz pattern. While a spacious sedan, the EQS has a coupe-like roofline thanks to its one-bow design. Together with its cab-forward fastback design, short nose, and one-piece aluminum clamshell hood—it achieves a co-efficient of drag at just 0.20—one of the lowest for a production vehicle.
Standard issue features include the seamless door handles, Panoramic Sliding Roof, and Digital Light with Ultra Range High Beam. Digital Light technology allows the EQS’s headlights to adapt to the lighting condition based on road, traffic, and weather conditions. At the back, the rear lights have an internal mechanism shaped like a curved 3D helix and are joined by a light band.
Though a close relative to the S-Class (down to its four-link front and rear multi-link suspension setup), the EQS rides on its own electric architecture. It features Airmatic air suspension with adjustable damping and real-time adaptation to road conditions.
Inside, the EQS has a “Zero-Layer” interface that eases the operation of vehicle functions and infotainment. The control and display concept learns making it more personalized. As part of the MBUX infotainment system, it makes sure that the most pertinent applications are available at the top layer of the system and can make personalized suggestions about comfort, entertainment, or vehicle functions based on context and situation.
The MBUX Hyperscreen is the main light of the interior. Its 56-inch curved display merges three screens by bonded glass. In addition, the EQS is supported by a Burmester 3D surround sound system with 15 speaker, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
At the back, the MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment System comprises two 11.6-inch displays with touch controls on the backrests of the driver and front passenger seats. The MBUX rear tablet is also available as standard. As a fully-fledged tablet, it can also be used outside the vehicle. In addition, apps (Android) can be installed. With this convenient remote control, all rear seat entertainment functions can be comfortably controlled from any seat position.
Active Ambient Lighting, consisting of 190 LEDs that wraparound light strips and elements, is standard. The system works visually with the MBUX voice assistant and recognizes the position of the person speaking so it can direct cues like the system waiting for further input.
Priced at P 9.990-million, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4Matic AMG is designed to exceed all expectations. It marks a major milestone in integrating progressive mobility with executive-class luxury.
With this price, if better go with the Porsche Taycan.
ReplyDelete0-100 in 5.6s for 9.990m lmao
ReplyDeleteAhem you don’t expect Chairperson to be driving to work do you ?
ReplyDeleteYou'd need a fast car if you're being gunned down being the dirty businessman/politician you are.
Delete0-100 in 5.6s is sub par.
I know a chairperson who just rides a Toyota VIOS and Nissan Almera to work.
DeleteThat’s not the target market.
DeleteLooks a bit cheap. Front reminds me of the short-lived Civic FB or previous gen Kia Forte. This one's just a bit shinier and hightech.
