Honor and Porsche Design have jointly unveiled their first smartphone collaboration: the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR. The Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR has the distinction of being the world’s thinnest inward foldable smartphone—a reflection of both company’s design expertise.
According to Porsche Design, the design of the smartphone itself is meant to evoke Porsche sportscars. For example, the flyline of the backside, meant to improve a user’s palm grip, is reminiscent of a Porsche 911’s hood. Even the color of choice, Agate Gray, is the same one used in Porsche’s legendary sportscar range.
Honor and Porsche Design have jointly refined the choice of materials used in the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR. As a result, it weighs in at just 234 grams and is just 9.9 mm thick. It incorporates the industry’s first Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield for its screen. The tenfold improved scratch resistance and the hardness rating of over seven on the Mohs scale ensures superior resistance to damages.
With support for 1.07 billion colors, the screen (6.43-inch external and 7.92-inch internal) delivers vivid, accurate visuals. And as a testament to Honor’s human-centric technology, the device incorporates eye protection features such as 3840 Hz PWM Dimming, Dynamic Dimming, and Circadian Night Display, which reduce fatigue of the eyes.
The Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and has a Adreno 740 GPU. It runs on their Android 13-based MagicOS system, and packs a 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery. It has a 16 GB built in storage with support of up to 1 TB in the form of external storage.
The Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR rolls out first in China with plans to expand availability to more markets soon.
