Suzuki PH Officially Launches 2024 Jimny 5-Door Starting At 1.558M (w/ Specs)

After sightings around a month back, Suzuki Philippines has finally unveiled its first product offering for 2024: the much-awaited Suzuki Jimny 5-door.

The Suzuki Jimny 5-door builds on the success and legacy of the original Jimny by keeping all its all-road capability while wrapping it in a more family-friendly package.

Compared to the 3-door version, which will be retained by Suzuki Philippines in their line-up, the Jimny 5-door now has a 2,590 mm wheelbase and an overall length stretched to 3,985 mm (+ 340 mm). The overall width and height remain the same.

In terms of design, Jimny 5-door continues to convey the same practical and functional design elements of the Jimny. The sturdy, square body is not only meant to signify off-road capability and durability, but it also results in increased driver situational awareness. On top of its traditional aesthetic cues such as the round headlamps and 15-inch dark metallic rims, the Jimny 5-door arrives with chrome accents to its front grille, highlighting the five-slot design.

Like the original 3-door Jimny, the Jimny 5-door is powered by the 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine with 102 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. It also keeps its manual transfer case as well as part-time four-wheel drive system (Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4WD) mated to either a 5-speed manual (Jimny 5-door GL) or 4-speed automatic (Jimny 5-door GLX).

Inside, the Jimny 5-door continues with the themes of practicality and functionality. Most of the changes have gone to the rear seats where the thicker cushions provide better comfort. There’s also a rear lamp for improved interior lighting. The rear doors also happen to accommodate the new rear power window switches. At the front, a new front console box contains the window controls for the rear passengers.

New features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and cruise control on the Jimny 5-door GLX.

In terms of cargo, the extended wheelbase and length of the Jimny 5-door happens to result in an expanded cargo area as well. Although the 3-door’s luggage box has been removed, the lowered floor height and increased depth results in 211 liters of cargo space (rear seats up). Moreover, there’s now a luggage room lamp and, like the 3-door, a 12-volt accessory socket.

Safety has also been upgraded in the Jimny. The Jimny 5-door GLX variant receives 6 airbags on top of ABS with EBD, stability control, hill descent control, and a reverse parking camera with rear sensors.

The Suzuki Jimny 5-door comes in four colors for the base GL variant: Celestial Blue Metallic, Jungle Green, Granite Gray Metallic, and Arctic White Pearl. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line GLX variant comes in four monotone shades: Celestial Blue Metallic, Jungle Green, Granite Gray Metallic, and Arctic White Pearl (February to March arrival) and two two-tone colors: Sizzling Red Metallic + Bluish Black Pearl and Chiffon Ivory Metallic + Bluish Black Pearl.

The Suzuki Jimny 5-door is priced at P 1,558,000 for the Jimny 5-door GL MT and P 1,698,000 for the Jimny 5-door GLX AT. The two-tone colors for the Jimny 5-door GLX AT commands an additional P 10,000 premium.

  1. 4x4 midsize Pickup-Trucks, base models and top of the line are waving.... We can carry loads and we have powerful and strong diesel engines

    1. I noticed how you deliberately avoided the topic on reliability and off road capability. 😆😆😆

  4. At 1.6m -1.7m all they can put is a '90s vintage style door handle? Nobody uses that anymore except those cheap small entry level cars which is understandable.

  5. Well priced niche 4X4 SUV
Looking forward to buy and own one soon

  6. Good for the enthusiasts but very pricey and impractical...you can have a mid 4x4 pickup truck for the price range and diesel powered too

    1. Your not the target market sorry

    2. Let's see if the target market is really that strong.

    3. I owned a 3-door suzuki jimny before haler......owned a suzuki APV GLX as well...and we have a suzuki swift in the family...so about suzuki? No, you are sorry...

  7. That 102 HP for the 1545kg weight, lol. Even a small car like the Mazda 2 has more HP than that and is 526kg lighter and safer, ratings wise. Wouldn't even consider a Suzuki for their poor record of safety at all. Power and weight aside, the price is even more ridiculous.

  8. Best way to have this is to buy it and enjoy what it’s meant to do, then sell it for just about the same amount as you paid for it. Rinse and repeat. No reason to mope and complain about the price.

  9. These will only sell at that price if it was made in the land of the rising sun.

  10. Jimnys have a high resale value. Some even re sell it for a higher cost than the original sticker price. Thats the only benefit i see when u buy a jimny. Not sure about the 5 door though, it will either make or break the intended identity.

  11. Those who can afford this wont buy it because of where it's made.

  12. 5.7m turning radius? This has to be some kind of mistake. Thst's way too large for being just 300mm longer than the 3-door.

    1. Not a mistake. That's in the official brochure.

    2. Actual WTF moment from Suzuki. I did not expect a 300mm wheelbase increase to increase the turning radius by 800mm LMAO. It almost makes the comment comparisons against the pickups/SUVs in this comment section valid becuase it almost turns like one! Part of the appeal of the 3 door Jimny was its maneuverability in really tight spaces in an off-road situation, something that pickups and SUVs can not match. That is now thrown out of the window 😂

    3. Maybe it has something to do with the off road capability.

    4. Kaya pala kinompare sa mga SUV at pickup ang Jimny dito sa comsec, parang SUV din pala turning radius nito. For reference: Fortuner's turning radius is 5.7m, Everest and Terra at 5.8m, Strada at 5.9m, Montero at 5.6m. Wow! A proper SUV indeed!

  13. just wondering, how did they came up with those very expensive pricing? It rides on a body on frame platform, like the mid-size pickup trucks, then it is just a NA gasoline engine while pick-up trucks have diesel engines? again, for the base variant 4x4 MT trucks, your options could be Hilux J, D-Max LT, Ranger XL, Triton GL. for 4x4 mid to top variants, options could be Navara VE & VL and Ranger Sport and the Triton GLX. check their prices for comparison....

  14. it's a bit pricey for what you'll actually get :/ My friend owns a previous Jimny, he wanted to upgrade to the current one, but admitted that the price was and still is a turn off. Said he'll keep his' for a bit longer instead.

  15. The 3-door version is still sourced from Japan?

  16. Let's see if maraming enthusiast na kakagat sa pricen range. The AT price is already and SUV. If offroading, ano advantage ng 102HP + 4WD vs 180HP+ and 2WD (RWD)?

  17. Made in India... not worth this pricey small size 4x4.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Too pricey... not worthy for an India made small 4x4... small engine...but big price.

  19. The Suzuki dealerships in the Ph will DEFINITELY take advantage of markups.

  20. Suzuki Jimny vs Mitsubishi Triton hehe (head-to-head launches)

  21. Very small car. Vintage door handles? Did you see the inside of the car? It looks like it’s from 80s. Just like every Japanese car these days. They are behind 10 years in design. No thanks.

  22. When the 2nd row seats are folded, the brackets protrude which may compromise the loading of bulky outdoor gear. Wonder who designs and approve such things in the 21st century?

  23. This 5 door Jimny will fail. Just like what happened to Suzuki XL-7,Vitara,Kizashi.

Nobody wants a Suzuki priced higher than 1.4m pesos.

  24. Australia pricing is only in the neighborhood of 1.3 million. Why is Suzuki charging us more?
