It’s official: Maria Fe Perez Agudo is the new President and CEO of Chevrolet in the Philippines. Her official outing as the new top executive at Chevrolet’s exclusive Philippine distributor happened at the company’s Dealer Business Conference that happened at the Auto Resources Center (formerly the Hyundai Logistics Center) in Calamba, Laguna.
Agudo, who used to lead Hyundai Automotive Resources, Inc. (HARI) and Changan Motor Philippines (CMPI), has unveiled a new strategy for the American brand: REWORK. This strategy promises to lay down the ground work for the transformation of the Chevrolet business in the country.
Plans include the advancing of Chevrolet’s dealership and customer service operations.
“First thing on our agenda is to strengthen our bonds with loyal customers and to broaden our market scope, recognizing and acting upon the diverse demands for quality and service of our growing customer base,” Agudo said.
“Chevrolet Philippines stands on the brink of transformative progress. We assure our customers of products of exceptional quality that will foster customer loyalty, and of offers that mirror their true value. We are proud to support this with a network of service-oriented professionals, all contributing to our customers’ enriched Chevrolet experience,” Agudo concluded.
Standing by Agudo and her vision for Chevrolet include Chevrolet Philippines’ Chairman of the Board, Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia and Mr. Richard L. Lee, Chairman Emeritus.
She'll likely reduce the prices of the Tracker,Trax and Trailblazer to make it more sellable..Not expecting her to massively reduce the prices of the Tahoe,Suburban and Corvette.
ReplyDeleteShe did a fantastic work at Hyundai and Changan before when it comes to marketing, distribution and sales.
She brought Hyundai down the drain that's why Hyundai Korea had to come to the Philippines to save it. She was selling Hyundai vehicles with prices out of this world and she was removing everything in the units to make more money.
DeleteHyundai Philippines under Koreans still failed to match the 20,000 annual sales volume of HARI due to its greed (selling the Creta,Santa Fe,Palisade,Tucson and H100 with incomplete safety features at very expensive prices 😂).and overpricing strategies in the Philippine market.😂
DeleteHyundai Philippines is only relying on the slow selling badly designed Stargazer and hideous looking Staria for its sales and survival.
First order of the day: remove passenger airbags.
ReplyDeleteThis comment is gold.
DeleteTC: First order of the day - pricing (not competitive), product offering (limited lineup) and customer service (perceived service standards).
ReplyDeleteMaybe she already learned lesson on hyundae and changan or else it could be the 3rd timed she would be kick out. Good luck, pls no higher priced and features stripped to the bone. It could be 3rd time the luck
ReplyDeleteShe is the worst of the worst....... Very bad for Chevrolet. Let's see if she learned her lesson.
DeleteLooks like this will mean the end of Chevrolet lmao. Wanna bet how long they survive under infamous HARI leadership?
ReplyDeleteShe did very well in handling the Hyundai passenger car and truck distribution business compared to FMC/Italcar which failed badly due to internal politics.
DeleteKorean led Hyundai Philippines still struggled to match the 5 digits sales and Top 5 sales rank achievements of HARI 😂
I bet that could happen, considering what she was doing in Hyundai. Started good ended up really bad. I don't blame Hyundai Korea for kicking her out.
DeleteHyundai Philippines under Koreans aren't even doing well as it still selling vehicles with incomplete safety features at very expensive prices.😂
DeleteCreta with ADAS but only got two airbags and Palisade and Santa Fe without AEB at expensive prices 😂 Hyundai H100 at 1.4 Million Peso without airbags and ABS 😂😂
Sana she takes over Volvo also, palpak lahat pero very good car.

DeleteIf you assure your customer good after sales service without any complaints, spare parts availability and reduce the price of your products, then probably those hesitant buyers might be interested to consider.
DeleteHARI? Well there goes any hope of a comeback.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've read something like this before. How many times do Chevrolet need to "change"?
ReplyDeleteFe Agudo and her team are planning to bring back the Captiva and Aveo to the Philippine market together with the Chevrolet Groove..These China made vehicles by Wuling are reliable and affordable.
ReplyDeleteAre you guys implying she’s no good, I thought she did well with Hyundai?
ReplyDeleteShe started good but her head went up to the point of selling the most low ends of the Hyundai lineup and sell it like it was a luxury car. She even took off the ABS and airbags off the units....
DeleteHyundai vehicles that are loaded with safety features especially the ones made in Korea and India are very expensive to sell.
DeleteShe tried to make the vehicles affordable by removing those safety features which is just fine as its not really mandatory in the Philippine market to add those extra features
Hyundai Philippines is still selling H100 without airbags and ABS aside from the Tucson,Santa Fe and Palisade without AEB at very expensive prices
The real problem is with Hyundai and not with Fe Agudo.

ReplyDeleteThank you.
Chevrolet would need just about the same lineup of vehicles as Ford, Mitsubishi and Nissan to break into the sales charts. Only bringing in Tahoe and Suburban limits them to just a niche player. They’ll need to offer a compact pickup truck and SUV to attract more buyers. The Spark was a fun little city car but was priced wrong.
ReplyDeleteChevrolet Philippines will mainly focus on SUVs came from China & Korea and American imports.
DeleteUnlikely for them to compete with Ford as they can't sell the Colorado here due to pricing issues.
There are only two Solution for the Chevrolet Cars to get back on its feet and survive: Lower competitive Price and more features on all models. If these are not met Chevy brand is dead for good no matter what Fe Agudo do it won't work.
ReplyDeleteTC : copy Ford's formula. Carry both American and Asian vehicles but Asian made vehicles should come as volume market prices. Otherwise it is hard to penetrate PH with any near top of mind preference.
