A day after Toyota Motor Corporation revealed irregularities surrounding the diesel engines powering the Hilux, Hiace, Fortuner, Innova, and Land Cruiser 300, Toyota Motor Philippines has reached out and issued a statement in connection with these engines and vehicles.
According to Toyota Motor Philippines, the irregularities do not affect any of the vehicles sold in the Philippines. They also add that they do not have any impact on horsepower, torque, or other powertrain-related values. In addition, these irregularities do not compromise the emissions or safety of these vehicles.
It’s important to note at this point that while the irregularities have minimal impact to owners of current vehicles, with Toyota Motor Corporation suspending shipment of these engines and vehicles using these engines, it could have an effect on vehicle stock at least in the coming weeks or months.
Read the full statement below:
Toyota Industries Corporation, a company affiliated with Toyota Motor Corporation, announced on January 29, 2024 that irregularities in horsepower output certification tests applicable to certain countries were found on three Toyota engine models. However, this issue does not affect any vehicle in the Philippines.
As a reference, this matter relates to irregularities in the certification process based on national requirements in certain countries, but do not have any impact on horsepower, torque, or other powertrain-related values. Additionally, these irregularities do not compromise the emissions or safety of their vehicles.
We would like to reassure our customers by stating that we believe their vehicles are unaffected by these irregularities. We apologize for any confusion or concern this issue may have caused.
As expected from TMPC which is a company well known for only caring about high sales volume and huge profits instead of customers safety and vehicle quality.
ReplyDeleteNo particular reason, they just decided na hindi affected. Hahaha what a joke!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be fun when Toyota declares ALL affected vehicles, no matter where they are sold, are affected.
ReplyDeleteUna, hino. Tas daihatsu. At eto na nga, pati mismong tmc may balita din na negatibo. 🤦♂️
ReplyDeleteBecause whatever Toyota does, people still buy their vehicles. Hindi yan sila matututonkung panay pa rin bili ng tao despite their immoral conduct
ReplyDeleteBukod tanging pinagpala. Toyotas sold in the Phils. it seems, are NEVER affected by any irregularity, recalls, factory defects, exploding airbags and or any other negative findings found in other countries even if they come from the same left-hand drive factories that manufactured those other affected Toyotas abroad. How we remain insulated and unaffected from these issues of grave concern to every Toyota owner are beyond me. We are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteNa audit na rin ba ang toyota phils? They can easily declare that statement. Imagine in 30 years they cheated the certifications. They have to release the concrete proof.
DeleteWow... "Believe".. that's just very inspiring, TMPC. Guess it's hard to make a concrete statement, huh.
ReplyDeleteDon't hate TMP yet. I would expect the reason is because I think Japan made engines are EU6 and ours are still EU4. Innova's engine, if I'm not mistaken is made in Toyota Aisin PH (TAP) in Sta. Rosa, Fortuner, Hiace and Hilux are Thailand(or indonesian) made. Countries with more lenient emission testing. No need to fake
ReplyDeleteToyota still cheated about its declared engine power outputs which is illegal
DeleteThis is similar to Volkswagen's Dieselgate scandal
time to quit your Toyota and buy a Mahindra..........yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
ReplyDeletetas next time. May customer satisfaction campaign na rin to :D
ReplyDeleteWho is TMP to declare this? In the global pecking order, they should defer to the regional manufacturing bosses to give the assessment.
ReplyDeleteTMPC is afraid of losing sales that's why they'd rather lie and deny rather than be honest
