Two Jetour Ice Cream EVs were given away at a golf tournament sponsored by former Department of Transportation (DOTr) secretary Art Tugade.
The Jetour Ice Cream EVs were initially hole-in-one prizes at the 20th APT Cup, but when luck ran out at the fairways, they were raffled off instead to the attendees. Dr. Rolly Cinco and Atty. Steve Pastor became the two new owners of the micro EVs when their names were drawn during the awarding ceremonies.
“The Jetour Ice Cream EV has created awareness in helping address the issue of climate change by reducing carbon footprints through electric vehicles,” shared former Transportation Secretary Tugade. “Komportable na sa biyahe, ayos pa sa bulsa,” he adds.
The APT Cup is a merry and casual golf tournament among the friends and associates of the transportation department’s former chief. In the spirit of fun and friendship, participants wore basketball jerseys, anime, sci-fi, and superhero costumes as they swung their way through the course. Around 158 players joined the game this year—the first time the event was held again after a seven-year hiatus.
“It is all about cherishing friendship, remembering the good old days. About having fun and being a child once more. It’s an excellent feeling,” beamed Tugade about the tournament.
In attendance this year were Tugade’s past colleagues in government service, which included then-Executive Secretary Medialdea, current Senator and former Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, former Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, ex-Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, and Chairman and Resident Representative-designate of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), and former Labor Secretary Bebot Bello III.
During the competition, business people, actors, the secretary’s former classmates at San Beda College, former DOTR officials, doctors, and PMA Class 2000 mistahs were also present. They partook in the festive atmosphere of the tournament and became instant winners of prizes given away at the event.
“Nandirito ang lahat ng aking mga kaibigan—nagsama-sama kami more than 30 years ago. Sila ang nagbigay ng lakas, tiwala at kooperasyon sa akin,” shared Tugade. “Hindi ko po narating ang aking narating kung wala kayo.”
