Showing the competitiveness of its products on the global stage, BYD is only one of two manufacturers with three vehicles shortlisted for the 2024 World Car of the Year.
The BYD Atto 3 joined the BYD Seal and BYD Dolphin in the initial 36-car list, but dropped out of contention as soon as the Top 10 finalists were announced. The BYD Seal remains a finalist this year, with the BYD Dolphin in the running for the 2024 World Urban Car of the Year category.
“We proudly welcome the inclusion of the BYD Seal and the Dolphin in the World Car of the Year’s finalists for 2024,” says Antonio Zara III, president of Mobility Access Philippines Ventures, Inc. (MAPVI), the exclusive distributor of BYD cars in the country.
“To have two models in top contention in this year’s awards is a notable feat while having three in the original eligibility list speaks volumes about BYD as a brand and as a global leader in the New Energy Vehicle space.”
Zara adds, “Among the three BYD models shortlisted by the WCA, the Atto 3 and Dolphin are already available in the country at BYD Cars Philippines dealerships. Both represent BYD's core brand advantages in today's local market—innovation, technology, safety, range, and accessibility. Reinforced by the Ayala Corporation’s target of having 160 EV charging stations installed this year, BYD electric vehicles are now becoming practical, sustainable mobility solutions for a growing number of Filipino car buyers.”
Vehicles eligible for World Car of the Year must be produced in volumes of at least 10,000 units per year and priced below the luxury car level in their primary markets. They must be “on-sale” in at least two major markets (China, Europe, India, Japan, Korea, Latin America, USA) on at least two separate continents from January 1, 2023 to March 30, 2024.
Aside from the Dolphin and Atto 3, BYD Philippines also offers the BYD Han premium sedan and BYD Tang seven-seat crossover.
All vehicles sold by BYD in the Philippines are covered by a 6-year, or 150,000-kilometer vehicle Warranty, an 8-year, or 160,000-kilometer battery pack warranty, and an 8-year, or 150,000-kilometer electric motor warranty.
Buying Chinese cars is essentially giving your enemy money. We are in a hot mess with China geopolitically and war can break out anytime in our region. Buying Chinese cars is essentially forex leaving the country and entering China. Why support your enemy who will readily use the same money to oppress you?
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. Besides that chinese cars are unreliable.
DeleteBYD is a privately owned car company
DeleteDon't buy Japanese and American vehicles too as those countries invaded the Philippines and they've killed and destroyed millions of lives of Filipino citizens 😂
China hasn't fully invaded the Philippines while Spain,America and Japan invaded and colonized the Philippines
byd seal u??? no plans to come to ph
ReplyDeleteToo expensive (priced at 2.8 Million Pesos or more).
Deletestill there's market for peole want it.. an option to those eV shifter who can afford whatever the cost
DeleteThose are lessons of the past should not repeat. We are talking about present geopolitical situation, BYD is not a private company and CCP actually hail it as it own.
ReplyDeleteStop spreading political propaganda and fake news here
DeleteEveryone knows that BYD is a privately owned car company..A very wealthy American tycoon invested his money on that company
Most pinoy hate china. Nadamay lang china cars. But they are actually good. At par maybe even better than jap cars if u will have the patience to scrurinze them mechanically. Example, their turbos are borg warner, their ECus are bosch, tyres are continental
ReplyDeleteTheir ACs are sanden, their steel are 1595mpa, LEDs are 6k temp, trannies are Getrag etc.. they basically use top brand suppliers in their cars.
That’s all and good buy where are you gonna get parts?
DeleteThe engines, materials used and craftmanships, quality control not good. Even the russians complaining that china cars easily broke down. Getrag the maker of infamous fiesta and ecosport dct. Most china cars now used homegrown trannies, turbo, AC's thats why its low quality, unreliable, not durable. But byd very good products
DeleteWarren just hold 8% of byd stocks and reduced it further. The truth is Byd a private company subsidized by ccp and just like huawie - used the subsidy to lower its priced below actual cost.
