The MG One takes on the brand’s new “Dual Front Face” design also seen in the MG GT sports sedan. With that, it has a long sloping hood, large blacked out grille with a sinewy pattern (Energized Alpha Grille), and shapely LED headlights with three-bar LED daytime running lights. At each corner are 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, while at the back is its LED Delta Glow taillights, “Twin Aero” rear spoiler, and a bumper with a built-in diffuser.

Available colors are Moon White, Iron Oxide, Meteorite Black, Extreme Speed Red, Fizzy Orange, and Brighton Blue. The MG One Lux comes standard with a two-tone color scheme (black roof).

Under the hood, the MG One has a standard turbocharged and direct-injected 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a CVT. Outputs are pegged at 170 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. Zero to 100 km/h is pegged at 8.8 seconds. Plus, thanks to its SAIC Motor Intelligent Global Architecture or SIGMA platform, it has independent suspension on all four corners.

The MG One measures in at 4,581 mm in length, 1,871 mm in width, and 1,617 mm in height. It sports a wheelbase of 2,670 mm, and with that, lands it squarely in the traditional compact SUV segment size-wise.

Inside, the MG One Lux comes with a 30-inch wrap-around triple screen facing the driver, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an electronic shift lever, push-button start/stop, fabric or “leather style seats” with power adjustment, wireless device charger, electric seats, dual zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.

For safety, it’ll come with four SRS airbags on the MG One Std (going up to six on the MG One Lux), ABS with EBD, electronic stability program with hill hold control, tire pressure monitors, and a 360-degree camera. This is on top of a myriad of active safety features on the MG One Lux including Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Automatic High Beam.

The 2024 MG One comes standard with a 5-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty and 24/7 emergency roadside assistance.
