Honda has shown off the refreshed 2024 City Hatchback. Now on sale in Thailand, where it’s manufactured, it completes the sub-compact’s midcycle transformation after the four-door sedan received a similar treatment last year.
For 2024, the City Hatchback receives a new front end making it more differentiated from the sedan. Changes include a new bumper and front grille. The bumper itself integrates a more unique fog lamp housing, while the grille has a sportier mesh insert. Full LED headlights flank it. The side skirts and 16-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned, and like the sedan, the rear bumper now has an integrated diffuser design.
In terms of colorways, the City Hatchback now comes with the option of a two-tone exterior color with a black roof. Brilliant Sporty Blue is also added to the RS line joining Ignite Red Metallic.
Inside, the 2024 City Hatchback adds new convenience features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, USB Type C ports, and Honda Connect. Oh, and finally, it’s the first City model to receive variable intermittent wipers with a rain sensing function. Safety-wise, the City Hatchback also gets Honda Sensing.
Mechanically, the City Hatchback remains unchanged. For Thailand, it means having either a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine or an electrified 1.5-liter 4-cylinder. The former makes 122 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque, while the latter’s dual motor setup helps it push 122 horsepower (combined) and 253 Nm of torque.
With the launch of the City Hatchback in Thailand, it’s just going to be a matter of time when it reaches the Philippines as well. When it does, expect it to receive the same technology features (including Honda Sensing), but retaining the normally-aspirated 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. Personally, we are hoping it does get a hybrid powertrain either as an option or as standard.
Still no HONDA Sensing technology?
ReplyDeleteWe added a line to make it clearer. Honda Sensing was made available in the City Hatchback in Thailand before the refresh. But yes, we expect Honda Cars Philippines to add Honda Sensing as standard when it arrives here soon.
Deletethanks, i guess it arrived to late for me since we already purchased the 2024 City RS; they were offering 2023 hatchback but since it don't have the Honda Sensing, we just go for the City Sedan RS

ReplyDelete^Yeah, this and the jazz were previously popular to yuppies, but now, majority in PH want higher riding cars such as crossovers and SUVs.
ReplyDeleteThe character line just beneath the window seem to not jive with the overall design and it looks Ertiga-ish.
