All-Electric Gogoro Scooters Are Not Covered By E-Bike Ban

Gogoro Philippines has released an official clarification in connection with the recently passed MMDA Regulation No. 24-022 series of 2024 that bans e-bikes, e-trikes, as well as tricycles, pedicabs, pushcarts, and kuligligs from traverse national roads, circumferential, and radial roads in Metro Manila starting on April 1.

According to the e-scooter company, known for its quick swappable battery technology, the Gogoro SuperSport, Gogoro Delight, and Gogoro S2 Premium are Category L3 e-motorcycles, which are two-wheeled vehicles capable of running more than 50 km/h.

In accordance with Land Transportation Office’s Administrative Order No. 2021-0039, these vehicles are subject to LTO registration and require a driver's license to operate. They are also allowed on all types of roads including national roads, circumferential roads, and radial roads except in limited access highways such as expressways.
