After leaking out in documents filed with the LTO early this month, Suzuki Philippines has officially launched the refreshed XL7. And thankfully, it still comes with a (mild) hybrid system even if it doesn’t quality anymore for perks such as number coding exemption.
For the Philippine market, only one variant is available: the XL7 Hybrid GLX, but it does come in a choice of monotone (P 1,252,000) and two-tone (P 1,262,000) flavors. Colorways available for the monotone are: Magma Gray Metallic, Brave Khaki Pearl, and Snow White Pearl. Meanwhile, for the two-tone, they are: Savanna Ivory Metallic/Cool Black Pearl Metallic and Rising Orange Pearl Metallic/Cool Black Pearl Metallic.
Both variants come with the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki or the SHVS system. This 12-volt mild hybrid enhances the efficiency of the K15B engine by up to 13 percent by having the ISG and lightweight lithium-ion battery taking over the vehicle’s electrical load. This means the XL7 can extract the most out of the available 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. Also equipped with an Engine Auto Stop Start System, Suzuki says it can do up to 22.03 km/L. The transmission remains a 4-speed automatic.
Communicating its new powertrain, the XL7 Hybrid has a new face and grille helping it exude confidence. The bumpers also happen to integrate underguards which match the side protection moldings. A load-bearing roof rail and 16-inch alloy wheels come as standard.
Inside, the XL7 Hybrid comes with a black interior with silver-metallic door accents. There are new silver accents added to the dashboard and complement features that include ventilated cup holders, front and rear air conditioning, and a 10-inch touchscreen audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In conjunction with the launch, Suzuki Philippines is offering an exclusive Early Reservation Promo, allowing customers to secure their spot with a minimum deposit of P 5,000 until March 31.
Customers who reserve within this period will enjoy a P 50,000 discount from the total SRP for cash and bank P.O. transactions or a discounted down payment for financing.

6 airbags is definitely miles safer than 2 airbags. Xpander cross at 1.3M with just 2 airbags and with no ADAS clearly overpriced

Kia Carens got 6 airbags in India but only scored 3 stars at GNCAP as the body and crash structure of it is weak.
Mild hybrids are crap.

DeleteBattery of mild hybrid vehicles cost around 60,000 Pesos only compared to the 300,000 Pesos up to 400,000 battery replacement prices of hybrid vehicles of Toyota.
Mild hybrid is useless, its just a glorified starter and just an additional cost with no benefits.

ReplyDeleteSuzuki Ertiga and XL7 scored 4 stars at ASEAN NCAP which is a good safety score compared to the 3 star rating of Daihatsu Xenia/Toyota Avanza and 4 star rating of Hyundai Stargazer despite having six airbags and ADAS.
ReplyDelete4 speed automatic transmission is way more reliable than CVT
CVT ain't cheap to replace (cost around 150,000 Pesos up to 300,000 Pesos to purchase a brand new replacement CVT transmission).
Avanza has 5 star asean ncap 2022 and did not have ncap test 2023. Asean ncap test was just a frontal crash test. Side airbags and curtain airbags definitely make vehicles more more safer in case of side impact or roll over. Modern cvt very reliable and durable. Dinosaur era 4 sped not fuel efficient. Mitsubishi indinesia already ditch xpander 4 sped in favor of cvt.
