Toyota Motor Philippines is announcing a special service campaign for select Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX 600 models.
In both cases, an issues was found in the design of the brake clutch disc that may cause delayed disengagement when shifting to neutral. This could lead to an involuntary low-speed movement if the footbrake or parking brake isn’t applied increasing the risk of a collision.
The following units are affected:
- Toyota Land Cruiser 300 – 3,420 units (produced between July 21, 2021 to January 12, 2024)
- Lexus LX 600 – 74 units (produced between December 13, 2021 to December 28, 2023)
It’s understood that Toyota Motor Philippines has already started reaching out to affected owners.

DeleteMazda is also transparent about recalls in the Philippines. Subaru on the other hand...they've never announced any recall. Most of them are silently done when vehicles are brought into the dealerships.

Planned obsolescense.
ReplyDeleteCertain car parts has to fail and break in a specific timeframe. This keeps the manufacturers and suppliers afloat.
Theres really no such thing as a bulletproof invinsible car brand.
The Japanese are the only ones reporting recalls. Other brands sold here with known recalls outside of our country doesn't get called out because maybe they don't want to deal with it. I've had a car that has a transmission issue that the local dealer here will not acknowledge even though it is a known fault Guess na lang it comes with a powerful shifter.
