MG Philippines Electrifies With ZS EV And MG4 XPower; Previews 4 Additional Models (w/ Specs)

MG Philippines showed off a 12-vehicle line-up at MIAS, the largest of any car brand at the event, including four new sustainable and innovative EV offerings for the local market.

“With the biggest and most diverse roster of cars suited for every kind of Filipino motorist, MG is ready to be the Philippines’ top choice for mobility,” said Felix Jiang, MG Philippines president. “Our showing at this year’s MIAS reinforces exactly what we bring to the table.”

Leading the charge at MG is the ZS EV and the top-of-the-line variant of the MG4, the MG4 XPower.

The ZS EV is the all-electric version of the ZS—MG’s best-selling nameplate locally. The ZS EV comes with a single electric motor putting out 177 horsepower (130 kW). Its 51-kWh battery helps it achieve up to 320 kilometers on a single charge. Pricing is set at P 1,838,888.

Meanwhile, the MG4 XPower is the high-performance, all-wheel drive variant of MG’s compact hatchback. Its 435 horsepower (330 kW) dual motor setup helps it achieve a 0 to 100 km/h sprint of just 3.8 seconds. This MG4 variant is priced at P 2,000,888.

The MG Cyberster, meanwhile, is officially open for pre-orders. Packing dual motors and an all-wheel drive setup, it’s confirmed to have a 77-kWh battery. The two-seater EV sportscar with a power folding roof is expected to carry a price of about P 4.5-million.

Then, there’s also the MG Mifa 9 MPV. This 7-seater luxury EV MPV has a large 90-kWh battery for a long range between charges. Its interior is both spacious and cutting-edge with features such as a touch-enabled infotainment system.

Beyond EVs, MG Philippines is also beefing up its internal combustion offerings.

First up, there’s the MG3 sub-compact hatchback. Striking a balance between style, performance, and functionality, it will be MG’s first hybrid electric vehicle for the local market. It’s joined by the MG7 sports sedan with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that pushes out 261 horsepower.

The brand also catered to SUV enthusiasts with the RX9. The RX9 also runs on a turbocharged 2.0-liter but putting out 234 horsepower.

Finally, the MG G50 and its 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (169 horsepower) offers seating up to right and comes with features such as a 12-inch infotainment system.

The MG ZS EV and MG4 XPower are now available at MG dealerships nationwide, while the MG Cyberster is available for preorders. The MG3, MG7, RX9, and G50 will be made available in the coming months.
