2024 Lexus GX Arrives In The Philippines With P 7.578M Starting Price (w/ Specs)

Lexus Philippines has quietly added the all-new GX to its line-up. The premium mid-sized SUV comes in two trim lines with a starting price of P 7.578 million.

Keeping its body-on-frame structure, the Lexus GX moves to the TNGA GA-F platform contributing to better durability and reliability, on top of being a formidable off-roader. Designed as “The Premium Off-Roader,” it packs a 3.4-liter twin turbo V6 putting out 349 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic.

For its duties in the Lexus GX, engineers enhanced the GA-F platform with additional body rigidity and optimized suspension geometry. An Electric Power Steering (EPS) system minimizes unnecessary road surface information transfer enabling the driver to fully concentrate on driving. The front suspension is an independent double wishbone, while at the back is a more traditional rigid suspension with extended wheel articulation.

Full-time all-wheel drive comes as standard, with the off-road-centric Overtrail grade adding an electronic locking rear differential. Other trailing tech include Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control and even Multi-Terrain Monitor.

In terms of design, the all-new GX exudes a tough, rugged look with its square body profile and horizontal design motif. The Lexus spindle boxy continues here resulting in a bolder design that also happens to aid off-roading. Sporting a wider body (up to 2,000 mm), it accommodates wider tracks. Other measurements are 4,950 mm in length and 1,865 mm in height. Wheelbase is at 2,850 mm. Design elements are also built for better ground clearance and off-roading with the headlights and grille raised up, and the front overhang decreased. Wheel size options start at 18 and are capped at 22 inches.

Inside, the Lexus GX has a lower, horizontal instrument panel design for easy vehicle placement from every angle. At the center is a standard 14-inch multimedia display. Physical dials and controls remain for the climate control and audio system remain, while the driver gets a 12.3-inch gauge cluster. The seats have been reworked to aid in comfort (less head movement), The second-row seats have a a one-touch tumble system allowing access to the third row. The third row itself is power actuated in the GX Premier.

The Lexus GX comes with features such as a 10-speaker standard audio system or a 21-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound system. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a wireless charger.

The all-new Lexus GX also sports the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. The comprehensive suite of active safety equipment provides the highest level of driver support with features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Lane Departure Alert.

The 2024 GX is assembled at the Tahara plant in Japan and for the Philippines comes in two variants:
  • Lexus GX 550 Overtrail – P 7,578,000
  • Lexus GX 550 Premier – P 8,578,000
