Honda Cars PH Launches New City Hatchback For 2024 (w/ Specs)

After updating the City sedan last year, Honda Cars Philippines has now done the same with the hatchback variant. The new City Hatchback brings a subtle refresh along with added tech and safety features for 2024.

Only available in the RS trim, the City Hatchback receives a facelift with a new bumper (with carbon fiber like detailing) and front grille. The bumper itself integrates a more unique fog lamp housing, while the grille has a sportier mesh insert. Full LED headlights flank it. The side skirts and 16-inch alloy wheels (still in Berlina Black) have been redesigned, and like the sedan, the rear bumper now has an integrated diffuser design but differentiated with the same carbon fiber accents.

In terms of colors, the City Hatchback comes in five colors: Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Ignite Red Metallic, and new for 2024, Sonic Gray Pearl.

Inside, the City Hatchback continues with its unique ULTR (Utility Long Tall Refresh) rear seats. Other than that, it gets extended leather coverage on its seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for its 8-inch infotainment system, a new 4.2-inch TFT meter cluster for the driver, and standard Honda Sensing.

Mechanically, the City Hatchback remains unchanged. The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine continues to offer 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque mated to a CVT. The engine is Euro 5 compliant and is compatible with up to 10 percent bioethanol. It still rides on the tried-and-tested MacPherson Strut / Torsion Beam Axle combination along with front vented discs and rear drums. The handbrake remains a manual hand-type.

The all-new Honda City Hatchback 1.5 RS retails for P 1,189,000, and is now available at all authorized Honda dealerships nationwide.

  1. Decent pricing for a hatchback version of the Honda City Sedan
MG3 and Mazda 2 are its closest segment rivals

  2. Refreshed refresh from a few months ago.
    Hope this sells this time.
Theres just too many options out there for the 1.20M pricepoint. Especially CUVs and mild hybrids.

    1. They are probably not super-hungry for sales (since they will just be given whatever the Thailand factory is able to produce)
