2024 VinFast VF5 Priced At P 992K; Now Available For Sale At Inaugural VinFast Showrooms

With VinFast Philippines opening its first three dealerships in the country, it has also revealed the specs and pricing of its first product: the 2024 VF5.

The VF5 can be purchased outright at P 1,191,000 or with a monthly battery subscription fee for P 992,000.

This A-segment EV SUV is designed by Pininfarina and Torino Design. It comes in four colors: VinFast Blue, Brahminy White, Crimson Red, and Neptune Gray. Standard exterior features include automatic on/off halogen headlights with follow-me home function, power adjustable sideview mirrors with turn signal indicators, and 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/55R17 tires.

Being an urban-centric crossover, it offers ample ground clearance—168 mm. Its turning radius is also quite compact at 5.5 meters.

With a 2,514 mm wheelbase, it has ample space inside with a standard cargo capacity rated at 260 liters with the rear seats up. Drop the rear seats down and it goes up to 900 liters.

The front-mounted motor produces 100 kW (130 horsepower) and 135 Nm of torque giving it a 0 to 100 km/h time of 10.9 seconds. It has two driving modes—Eco and Sport. The 38.4-kWh (37.23 usable) means up to 326 kilometers between charges. And thanks to its fast-charge capability, it can be juiced up from 10 to 70 percent in just 30 minutes.

Inside, the VF5 comes with a 7-inch driver’s information center display and an 8-inch infotainment screen. The air conditioning system also comes with a PM2.5 filter. Safety features include blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert as well as rear parking assist with a reverse camera.

  1. How much does battery subscription cost? Can you swap batteries like Nio?

  2. So, I briefly dropped by the asean branch and asked the tentative pricing for the subscription basis. Which felt like they were either unsure if they will disclose to buyers or they don’t fully grasp the battery leasing arrangement that VF has.

    If my memory serves me right, the monthly plans would be:
    1,500kms - ₱3800
    3,000kms - ₱5k++
    Unlimited range -₱13k

    Assuming you got the base subscription and got it on loan for 5yrs. That would nearly match the 190k difference for the non-sub purchase. Might* make sense for city commutes. At a range of 300km and an average 50km per day. Even for those that would rely on establishments that provide free charging, could this be a sensible choice?

    Apart from the reliability issues which I’ve been reading throughout the day. Thoughts?

  8. Vinfast has a better deals among EV distributors in the Philippines. With it's battery subscription program means they are taking care of their customers for long haul. Unlike Chinese WPS invaders they are disposable after 8years.

  10. EVs are not the answer. ICE and hybrids are way better options and you have that option.

  12. I personally don't trust vinfast, MG battery warranty. Not because they are bad companies but I don't think vinfast and MG will last long. MG went bankrupt before that is why a Chinese company was able to buy the trademark. I will only buy evs from legacy companies.
