Hyundai Boosts Electrified Portfolio With Tucson Hybrid And Santa Fe Hybrid (w/ Specs)

Hyundai Motor Philippines has a momentum going on right now. Sales are up 40 percent for the first half of 2024, compared to the same period last year. They’re also looking at opening more dealerships outside of Metro Manila. Add to that, they have two new cars in their lineup, and they’re electrified. Meet the new Tucson Hybrid and Santa Fe Hybrid.

2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

The new Santa Fe Hybrid picks up where the former top of the line Calligraphy trim left off. It has the same look from the outside, but has key changes. First is the powertrain. This is now run by a Smartstream 1.6-liter Turbo Hybrid engine that puts out 235 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. Along with that is e-Dynamic Drive that allows for electric-powered Handling, Traction, Evasive Handling Assist, and Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control.

Second main component change in the Santa Fe Hybrid is the second-row seats. There’s now a pair of captain seats with remote folding function, instead of the usual 60/40 split type seats.

All else, like the Dual Wireless Charger, Bi-Directional Storage on the center console, and Hyundai SmartSense that includes Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist among others were carried over from the Calligraphy trim.

The new Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid will retail for P 3,330,000. It will come in Abyss Black, Creamy White, Magnetic Gray, Earthy Brass, Terracotta Orange, and Ocado Green.

2025 Hyundai Tucson

Along with the electrified Santa Fe is the Tucson that sports a new look and hybrid powertrain. It has the same setup as the Santa Fe, having the Smartstream 1.6-liter Turbo Hybrid with a max output of 235 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic. It also comes with paddle shifters for a sportier appeal.

It’s not all fast and furious though as the new Tucson has a unique ‘Baby Mode’ along with Eco, Smart, and Sport Driving Modes. This Baby Mode modifies the acceleration response, ensuring it’s smoother so your baby won’t be disturbed while sleeping inside the car.

The new Tucson has a revised look thanks to a re-shaped grille and integrated Daytime Running Lights. They’re not as sharp as before, but the overall look makes the Tucson easier on the eyes. There were also slight revisions on the front and rear bumpers, but most noticeable changes are the new design of the 19-inch wheels.

Inside is where the changes are most apparent. The new Tucson adopted the dashboard layout of the Santa Fe to replace the cascading waterfall-like design of the outgoing model. There’s the same Curved Panoramic Screen that houses the 12.3-inch Instrument Panel and another same-sized touchscreen for Infotainment that has Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also a floating-console box that doubles as an armrest, but the center console is retained though at a lower height.

Safety is also prioritized in the new Tucson. It has 6 airbags, Multi-Collision Brake System, Hill Start Assist, Downhill Brake Assist, and Tire Pressure Monitoring. Hyundai SmartSense is also fitted inside the Tucson Hybrid giving it features like Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist among others.

The new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid will retail for P 2,290,000. It will be available in Pine Green, Phantom Black Pearl, White Cream, Shimmering Silver, Amazon Gray, Deep Sea, and Cashmere Bronze. There’s no spec sheet for the gas and diesel models yet but HMPH already announced their price at PHP 1,680,000 and PHP 1,980,000 respectively.

Both hybrid cars will have an ‘HEV’ warranty of 5 years or 200,000 kilometers, and a High Voltage Battery warranty for 8 years or 160,000 kilometers whichever comes first. Reservations are now open and can be made through the following Hyundai dealerships: Alabang, Bacolod, Cebu South, Commonwealth, E. Rodriguez, Makati, Pampanga, and Pasig.
