Suzuki Philippines showed off what could be the country’s first (mild) hybrid taxi: the Suzuki Ertiga GA Taxi.
Responding to the demands of taxi and fleet operations, Suzuki Philippines modified the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid GA by removing the third-row transforming it into the Ertiga Hybrid GA Taxi. This ensures ample space and an expanded cargo area.
Seating aside, it keeps the same specifications as the standard Ertiga Hybrid GA model down to its Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki or SHVS system which pairs the carmaker’s 1.5-liter K15B 4-cylinder engine with an ultra-compact ISG and 12-volt lithium-ion battery. With enhanced fuel economy and reduced emissions, it makes for an ideal choice for taxi operators seeking to minimize operating costs while contributing to environmental sustainability.
Features include 15-inch alloy wheels with full covers, halogen headlamps, a multi-information display with a LCD TFT display, 4-way manual adjustable driver’s seat, dual air conditioning, and power door locks and windows. It also has dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control.
For now, Suzuki Philippines says that the Ertiga Hybrid GA Taxi is a concept. However, depending on customer response, the carmaker will study whether it’s feasible to bring it to market. Currently, the 7-seater Ertiga Hybrid AT is priced at P 954,000.
