Starting with what makes it a legit off-roader, the new Wrangler is fitted with 4:1 Rock-Trac HD Full Time 4WD System, Dana M220 Wide Full Floating Rear Axle, Dana M210 Wide Heavy Duty Tube Front Axle, E-Locker Front and Rear Axle, 4.10 Rear Axle Ratio, Front Disconnecting Stabilizer Bar, Performance Suspension, Aux Switches, Tow Hooks, and Integrated Off-Road Camera.

There’s also a ‘Trail Rated’ badge that signifies it has passed rigorous testing in 5 key areas. These are Water Fording with its 34-inch or 863mm water fording capability, High 279mm Ground Clearance, Articulation, Maneuverability, and Traction.

Its aesthetics also received key improvements inside and out. There’s now a Corning Gorilla Glass as the windshield, there’s a dedicated Off-Road Camera in the middle of the signature 7-slot Jeep grille, a rear camera at the full-sized spare wheel mount, Automatic LED headlights, LED DRLs, and LED Tail lamps. The new Wrangler Rubicon sits on 17-inch wheels with 33-inch All-Terrain Tires.

There are premium appointments inside the new Wrangler. The seats are wrapped in Nappa Leather, there’s an old-school shifter for the 4x4 system, while the center of the dash houses the biggest touchscreen in a Wrangler so far at 12.3-inches with Uconnect 5. It has Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired to a 9-speaker Alpine Sound System. This infotainment system also has a customizable home screen, five user profiles, GPS Navigation, and Off-Road Info Pages.

Powered front seats finally arrived in the Wrangler and it’s worth the wait because theirs is weather proof. The 34-inch water fording capability of the Wrangler will certainly reach the seats and so they took their time to protect it.

Safety isn’t overlooked as the Wrangler Rubicon features more than 85 active and passive safety and security bits. These include the front, front side, and side curtain airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control, Selec-Speed Control, Advanced Brake Assist, Rollover Mitigation, Full Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, and Blind Spot Monitoring among others.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbo inline-4 engine that makes 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic.

The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is available in the following colors - White, Black, Sarge Green, Granite Crystal, Earl Grey, Silver Zynith, Firecracker Red, and Hydro Blue. The 2-door Wrangler is priced at P 5,590,000 while the 4-door is at P 5,780,000. You can get them at Jeep’s branches in Alabang, Cebu, Clark, Greenhills, and San Fernando.
