MG is giving their best-selling crossover its first full-blown redesign. The all-new, second-generation ZS packs substantial upgrades in technology, comfort, and performance headlined by a new hybrid engine.
First shown for the European market, the all-new MG ZS follows the lead of the MG 3 by electrifying its 1.5-liter engine. For the all-new ZS, the 102-horsepower 1.5-liter is supplemented by a 136-horsepower / 250 Nm electric motor (hooked up to a 1.83-kWh lithium-ion battery) for a combined output of 196 horsepower. Power is routed through the front wheels via a three-speed gearbox giving the all-new ZS a 0-100 km/h time of 8.7 seconds. It also returns up to 19.6 km/L.
Other markets will continue to offer the standard 1.5-liter in both normally aspirated and turbocharged versions. These engines will be paired to either a CVT (non-turbo) or a 6-speed torque converter automatic (turbo). The all-electric MG ZS EV will be reportedly spun off as a separate model named the MG S5.
Features for the all-new MG ZS include full LED lighting front and rear, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 6-way powered driver’s seat, 12.3-inch HD infotainment display with navigation, a 7-inch virtual driver display, 360-degree camera, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and keyless entry.
The ZS will also benefit from MG Pilot—a comprehensive range of safety and driver assistance technologies that includes adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, and traffic jam assist.
It will launch in Europe starting in October with other markets to follow.
It looks like a byd. But it looks good. The brand by far that survives the ph market.. hoping their after sales service will improve more. My sister has rx5 but switched to ranger raptor.
ReplyDeleteGood looking and high quality new PHEV vehicle from MG
ReplyDeleteGood looking yes, high quality definitely NO
DeleteQuality of New MG ZS Hybrid are miles better than made in Indonesia Daihatsu and Toyota vehicles
DeleteHow would you know? Do you own one?
DeleteIf only MG PH has better after-sales service. For instance, MG Makati has so many horror stories with disrespectful staff. They can’t even help us with installing plates and parts take a much longer time than German brands like BMW and Porsche to procure.
ReplyDeleteOur experience in MG Sta Rosa is very okay. The staff are very courteous and they grant simple requests such as installation of plates and inflation of tires.
DeleteTapos bokya ulet sa crash test...scary.
ReplyDeleteNah
DeleteMG ZS EV and MG HS the previous generation scored 5 STARS at Euro NCAP
