After showing it off as the premium Infiniti Q80 last March, its more mass-market sibling, the all-new 2025 Nissan Patrol is set to be unveiled to the world this September 4.
Shown side-by-side with a 1967 Patrol in the background, Nissan is giving everyone a first glimpse of the all-new full-sized off-roader’s new grille. Compared to previous teasers shown by Nissan before, this one clearly shows its badging in red and the grille insert in an interlocking mesh. This could very well point to a more hardcore off-road version (likely a Pro-4X trim) of the Patrol in select markets.
Previous teasers point to the return of the vertically-oriented taillights which are connected by a full-width LED bar at the back as well as a 360-degree camera integrated into the grille.
Otherwise, expect the same sort of ingredients already found in the Infiniti Q80. For example, the 5.6-liter V8 will likely be chucked in favor of the VR35DDTT twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 making 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque mated to a 9-speed automatic. It will probably have electric power steering for the first time too, giving it much more advanced driver assist features. Oh, and speaking of tech, expect more digitalization in the form of screen for gauges and for the infotainment.
Nissan hasn’t been shy on which vehicle the all-new Patrol’s benchmarking: the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Ahead of its launch, Nissan’s product planning chief Ivan Espinoza was quoted as saying that he believes Nissan’s next-generation SUV will be better than Toyota’s.
In an interview with Car Sales, he said:
“The car [Y63] is much better [than LandCruiser].”“I think the customers in the moment that they see and drive a V6 twin-turbo, you discover a new universe. The capability, the performance, the acceleration, the power delivery and output. It’s different.”“The overall performance, driving dynamics, you will see big, big improvements. The dynamic performance is very well executed on the road when you’re driving at high speed, the response, the chassis, the dynamics, the steering have also been greatly improved.”
Will Nissan deliver on their promise? Stay tuned on September 4.

ReplyDeleteNissan Patrol better than Toyota Land Cruiser? I highly doubt it.
ReplyDeleteLogic says it must be better since it is newer but there are doubts. Hopefully nissan prices this car cheaper but about a million over lc to sway buyers. If almost same price then buyers will still prefer the lc
ReplyDeleteNew Nissan Patrol is surely much more affordable, more luxurious and much faster than the overrated scalpers favorite LC300 and LC250
ReplyDeleteNew Nissan Patrol is designed to cater to the needs of its loyal customers in UAE
Pro-4x is only reserved for North America since it has red outlined Nissan logo
ReplyDeleteFilipinos love diesel engines kaya mas mabenta LC, unless ioffer yung bagong nissan patrol with diesel engine,.hindi yan lalapit sa lakas ng benta ng LC.hehe
ReplyDeleteLC250 is gasoline powered only 🤣🤣🤣
DeleteBuy according to needs. don't buy huge vehicles just to show off, when you are just a family of three. You're just clogging the streets , buy something smaller to show off like a Rolex or maybe a Patek.
