Chevrolet Opens First Dealership Under New Distributor

Chevrolet opens the doors of its first dealership under Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the newly-minted distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines.

The newest member of the Chevrolet dealership network is located in Camsur and is operated by Frontier Automotive Marilao Corporation (FAMC) of the Chiongbian group.

The HARI Board, led by HARI Vice Chair, President and CEO, Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, received a warm welcome and congratulations from prominent members of the province’s government and business sectors, led by the Mayor of the Municipality of Pili, Hon. Tomas O. Bongalonta.

Ms. Agudo thanked the Cam Sur leadership saying, “Our presence in Bicol will make Chevrolet’s global tagline, ‘Together, Let’s Drive,’ a reality. As the newest member of the local business community, we are ready to be your partner in driving the economy of Cam Sur and pursue the noble aspirations of the Bicol Region.”

Cam Sur is a hub for adventure sports and eco-tourism in the Bicol Region, which is already touted as the “Sports and Adventure Capital of the Philippines.” It is also the largest province of Bicol, contributing to around 33.4 percent of the region’s economy as well as the geographic center of the Bicol Peninsula.

For his part, Mr. William Chiongbian, Dealer Principal, shares that expanding Chevrolet’s brand presence in Bicol is of strategic timing, given current and future infrastructure plans that will develop Cam Sur into one of the Philippines’ major growth centers for tourism and commerce.

“Things are looking up for Cam Sur. So, right here and now, we can already begin to add more value, serving and delighting the mobility needs of the Oragons and of the diverse markets who are visiting and who will be visiting this beautiful province,” said Mr. Chiongbian.

For over 20 years, the Chiongbian Group has been a steadfast business partner of HARI, consistently ranking among its top performing dealerships. Which is why Ms. Agudo confidently stated that the new dealership is more than ready to offer Chevrolet’s trademark service to Bicolanos.

“We continue to live up to our legacy of excellence in new ways in order to respond to the needs of today’s diverse markets, without ever letting go of our founding vision, which is to get you to where you want to be in a fast, safe, and fun way,” she ended.

Now under new management, Chevrolet in the Philippines has since taken significant breakthroughs for the first half of 2024: 131 percent growth for the first half of 2024, beating the brand’s full year performance in 2023, driven by the Chevrolet Tracker, Camaro, and Trailblazer.

  2. TCCCI and HARI are sister companies. no? If so, Chevy just switched from one hand to the other. What difference does this move make and does it even matter?
