In 2023, the brands under Geely Auto Group management sold over 1.68 million units, with new energy vehicle (NEV) sales increasing 48.3 percent, and exports growing 38 percent.
Among the new technologies developed by Geely include:
Geely Short Blade Battery
This latest-generation LFP battery excels in safety, longevity, charging speed, and low-temperature performance. Tested under extreme conditions, including penetration, crushing, and thermal shock, the battery has demonstrated unparalleled safety. With a cycle life exceeding 3,500 cycles, it can endure over one million kilometers of driving, outlasting the vehicle itself. Moreover, its rapid charging capability delivers an 80 percent charge in just 17 minutes, revolutionizing the electric vehicle experience.
GEA Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture
GEA’s groundbreaking 4-in-1 AI intelligent architecture is a global first, combining hardware, software, ecosystem, and artificial intelligence. This innovative platform delivers significant advancements in space utilization, energy efficiency, safety, intelligence, and driving dynamics. GEA supports a full spectrum of powertrain options, including pure electric, hybrid, range-extended, and green methanol.
Geely Xingrui Intelligent Computing Center
Geely’s self-built computing center eclipses all other Chinese automakers in scale. It houses industry-leading comprehensive computing power, supporting an unprecedented range of automotive operations. With a 102 exaFLOPS capacity, the center can simultaneously handle the computational demands of an astounding 3.5 million connected vehicles. It’s used in aspects such as the development of intelligent connectivity, autonomous driving, new energy safety, and prototype testing, propelling Geely’s R&D efficiency by 20 percent.
AI Digital Chassis
Geely’s self-developed AI digital chassis highlights the integration of its proprietary chassis technology, intelligence, electrification, and large-scale AI models across multiple domains, demonstrating industry-leading autonomous driving and active safety capabilities. This integration of the AI large model with a digital chassis allows Geely vehicles to perform the world’s first autonomous drift, enhancing intelligent safety assistance for users. The Geely AI digital chassis reacts in just 4 milliseconds—25 times faster than a human being—enabling “automatic evasive maneuvers” under extreme conditions and providing users with proactive accident prevention and control security.

Toyota went backwards when they've catered too much with the 3rd world Asian countries by producing less safer, less refined and poorly built DNGA vehicles..Hilux Champ/Tamaraw looks poorly built too. Then again Toyota cares mostly about making money and fooling it's customers
ReplyDeleteBusiness sense, regionalization.
DeleteTesla?
ReplyDeleteNothing new about Tesla and its technology
DeleteElon only cares about selling more Tesla EVs before he sells the company in the near future
Geely/lynk & co has better R & D and products than BYD. what makes a buzz about BYD is its predatory pricing, prices to push competitors out of the market.
ReplyDeleteBYD mainly focuses on mass market EVs and PHEVs
DeleteTheir pricing are fine though..BYD is marketed as Chinese Tesla
Geely is starting to catch up on BYD and Wuling when it comes to EVs as Geely introduced the Galaxy EV series meant to compete with BYD Atto 3 and BYD Seal
Geely also produced their answer to Wuling Bingo with the upcoming launch of Geely Geome small hatchback EV
Geely will start using their own Blade Battery technology with Galaxy E5 SUV EV this year
Some people buy because they need to have the latest in technology, even though it hasn't been perfected yet. They're the people who treat their cars like gadgets.
ReplyDeleteMost buyers however prefer tried and tested technology that has been refined throughout the years. Hence, the huge sales of Toyota. Although they're behind in technology, their cars are reliable due to being able to perfect the individual parts.
Not all Toyota vehicles are reliable
DeleteToyota suffered from reliability concerns, poor build quality and massive recalls
Electrical and transmissions of Toyota vehicles made in Indonesia and Thailand aren't that good either that's why there are lots of broken Hilux,Fortuner,Avanza,Raize and others in Indonesia and in the Philippines
Toyota sacrificed quality, reliability and safety of its 3rd world DNGA and IMV vehicles for the sake of profits.
Toyota isn't about the latest tech, everyone knows that. From 3rd world to first world, to taxis to terrorist, Toyota sells a lot. So maybe what people want is a car that just runs a long time.
ReplyDeleteHere, Filipinos buy toyota because of the brand and/or they cant afford anything else in the market. Who in their right mind will buy daihatsus and other rebranded toyotas once they know its not a real toyota and if they can afford better cars?
ReplyDeleteGlobally, toyotas have also the latest tech, good ride comfort and modern interior design just like any 2024 car that looks like a gadget. In fact, they also started removing physical buttons for some lexus models.
Where in the world are you basing your opinion from? Are you the “selling well” guy??
Most filipino car buyers have 70's era mindset when it comes to reliability of cars.Their perception is only japanese and germans build reliable cars. But technology has already advanced nowadays.
DeleteSo sad, sa pinas kahit kariton lagyan mo ng tatak toyota ,bibilhin dahil sa brand name .Lol.
It's always admirable for a company who invest heavily on innivation which purpose in this case is to make transportation more convenient and safe.. So in time those innovations will soon be proven useful and could change how we view cars as part of our daily lives..
ReplyDeleteDon't need to have the latest and greatest tech. I prefer reliable tech.
ReplyDeleteThis means Geelys are mere household appliances.
ReplyDeleteIf the latest tech matters, then geely and the others must be ahead of the sales race. Apparently people look for something else, that is what the other car makers just don't understand.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard pill to swallow for them toyota fanbois.. but it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteSales number and profit is all thats matter. Make a car that most people need and want to buy
Delete^
DeleteJust typical things that passionless corporate slaves would say
Most people want and need are buying cars worth their money. Value for money. More tech w less cost. Not about numbers. Numbers which does not give you your moneys worth.
DeleteToyota only cares about profits while sacrificing the safety and overall build quality of their vehicles
DeleteToyota ended up like Maruti Suzuki India now which is their partner
I will still choose a Toyota over Geely. I have no need for all that high-tech stuff in my daily drive.
ReplyDeleteGeely is mainly focused now on producing more EVs as evident with the introduction of Galaxy EV line with their own interpretation of Blade Battery technology aside from producing a rival to the Wuling Bingo and others
ReplyDeleteGeely will still continue to produce new gas powered vehicles as part of their commitment to improve the vehicle lineup of Proton
Toyota is left behind now due to too much cost cutting
Left behind??? Toyota sold 11M vehicles 2023 and for several years up to now world number 1. Toyota makes car that car buyers need and want to buy. Wala namang bibili ng blade blade na yan, it remains to be seen if it will works. It will be very pricy and not practical in real world driving condition. Dito nga sa pinas kulelat geely
DeleteI'm talking about technology and build quality where Toyota sorely lacks now
DeleteI don't care about its sales volume and its sales ranking as we all know fanatics from 3rd world Asian countries like the Philippines and Indonesia keep on buying it the way Indians and Pakistanis keep on buying unsafe tincans from Suzuki
I like how Geely progresses in the business, but to be honest, I think I favor good, old and silent Peugeot since the latter is practically an unsual sighting in the Southeast Asian region...
ReplyDeletePeugeot is left behind now as Stellantis plans to focus instead on selling cheaply made Citroën vehicles meant for 3rd world countries,African and Asian region
DeleteBoy Interior ikaw ba yan?
