Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) brought select members of the media to Thailand to watch the 2024 Asia Cross Country Rally. During the welcome dinner, Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing Toshiaki Kato shared some exemplary numbers.
According to Sato-san, MMPC has sold a record 8,000 units in July. This is a 7.33 percent increase from their 7,453 units sold in June. It was also enough to increase the brand’s market share to 20 percent from 19 percent the previous month.
The Mirage G4 is still leading the charge for the brand with 2,437 units sold followed by the Xpander/Xpander Cross with 1,966 units. Check out the July 2024 sales breakdown:
- Mitsubishi Mirage: 99 units
- Mitsubishi Mirage G4: 2,437 units
- Mitsubishi L300: 1,313 units
- Mitsubishi Strada / Triton: 803 units
- Mitsubishi Xpander / Xpander Cross: 1,966 units
- Mitsubishi Xforce: 380 units
- Mitsubishi Montero Sport: 1,002 units
Both the Mitsubishi Triton and Xforce received a 5-star rating from the ASEAN NCAP, while the pickup got another 5-star in the harsher Australasian NCAP, the first double-cab pickup to do so under the 2023 to 2025 protocols.
MMPC is in Thailand to see the Mitsubishi Triton try to retake its crown in the 2024 Asia Cross Country Rally and prove that it’s the gnarliest pickup on and off the paved road.

Mitsu ph strategy is to priced cars high and then offer frebbies and big discounts, and it works😁😁😁customers were very happy thinking that they get more than they bargain. See they priced the xforce very high and now they are offering at least 100k discounts
ReplyDeleteXForce is waaay overpriced compared to the competition. You get more value for money fm other brands. As for the discount?....you wish.
DeletePrices of the Mitsubishi XForce are just fine
DeletePrices of Kia Seltos,Hyundai Creta and Honda HRV are way much higher
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines dealerships are likely gonna give up to 180,000 Peso cash discounts for the XForce in next coming months in order to boost its sales
I just wonder how Mitsubishi was able to achieve such success in the Philippines. Their cars are old tech and pricey. PMS and maintenance are too expensive. Good marketing must be their best asset.
ReplyDeleteHow can you say their PMS is expensive? Do you own one?
DeleteMitsubishi vehicles are tried and tested that's why Filipinos love it
DeleteXpander,Mirage G4 and L300 are affordable that's why the sales of those vehicles are still good
Product lineup of Mitsubishi is yearly updated..This year Mitsubishi released the major update for the Montero Sport and released the new XForce,
Toyota is still selling 20 to 10 year old vehicles like the Hiace,Liteace and aging Vios in the Philippine market at higer prices
PH is Mitsu's biggest market worldwide. Pinoys are so into Japanese quality they don't know it is a junk brand everywhere else, including Japan.
DeleteIndonesia and Vietnam are the biggest markets of Mitsubishi Motors aside from Japan and the Philippines
DeleteToyota,Suzuki and Mitsubishi are popular in 3rd world markets in Asian region
If I'm Mitsubishi I will be worried not amazed with my increasing market share because it is driven by two aging models. Those 2 models cannot continue forever. But who knows Mitsu still sells the l300. Honestly I'd rather buy a 2nd hand car than the mirage
ReplyDeleteMitsubishi Motors Philippines and Thailand plans to heavily update the Mirage hatchback and Mirage G4 in two to three years time..They've got the budget to improve the vehicles
DeleteXpander isn't that old and Mitsubishi Motors keeps on updating it..Xpander Hybrid is set to be available in the Philippine market next year
Congratulations MMPC 👏👏
ReplyDeleteNext move of MMPC and its dealership network is to increase the sales of XForce which can be done by giving away 180,000 up to 200,000 Peso cash discounts.
Sales of Triton is steady though it needs to improve the safety features of its low and mid end variants in order to make it more sellable
The Vios 1.3 4 cylinder engine is better than the Mirage G4 1.2 3 cylinder engine.
ReplyDeleteVios is a decade old now and very expensive aside from having weak air-conditioning system
DeleteMirage G4 is a good city car and affordable when its purchased at discounted price
New Outlander PHEV,Xpander Cross HEV and Xpander HEV are the upcoming new products of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines next year
ReplyDeleteXForce HEV and the LWB seven seater version of XForce are currently in development
Mitsubishi is said to be developing a rival to the Raize,Tiggo 5x Pro and Sonet which is the replacement to Mirage hatchback
