Puregold Price Club announced today a partnership with Nissan Philippines to accelerate its sustainability efforts.
“Our efforts to be more sustainable are central to a better future for younger generations and our long-term success as a company. We are committed to integrating sustainability across our operations and motivating our customers to join us in these efforts,” said Puregold Price Club, Inc. President Ferdinand Vincent Co.
Puregold initiates a major transition of its store operations fleet by incorporating seven Nissan Kicks e-Power vehicles.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power uses a 100 percent electric motor-driven system, utilizing the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technology used in the Leaf EV. The vehicle features a gasoline engine that acts as a range extender, charging the high-voltage battery pack for exceptional efficiency.
“The Nissan Kicks e-Power aligns perfectly with Puregold’s commitment to sustainable practices. Its exceptional fuel efficiency and innovative electric motor technology will contribute significantly to Puregold’s environmental goals and operational cost savings.” Said Nissan Philippines, President Yasuhisa Masuda.
Puregold continues to implement various initiatives across its operations, including:
- ‘Walang Plastik Grocery Days’: every Monday and Wednesday, educating their shoppers on reducing plastic waste. Tindahan Ni Aling Puring members receive a P 1 cashback for each eco bag used and can save up to P 5 per transaction.
- LED Lighting Transition: All Puregold stores are transitioning to 100 percent LED main lighting to reduce energy consumption significantly.
- Solar Power Expansion: Puregold is expanding its solar power installations across Metro Manila and nearby provincial locations. This includes stores in Taguig, Paco, Balintawak, North Commonwealth, Taytay, Better Living, Sucat, Calamba Crossing, San Pablo, GMA areas, Anabu, Subic, Guiguinto Bulacan, Caloocan, Pasig, Valenzuela, Brookside Cavite, Bacoor, Calicanto, BF Homes, San Pablo Highway, and Santa Rosa.
- Wastewater Treatment and Water Conservation: The company ensures its wastewater treatment facilities comply with government regulations. It invests in rainwater catchment, greywater reuse, and other water-saving measures to minimize its impact on water resources.
