Volvo Cars PH To Hold "Recharge The Drive" From September 6 To 8

Volvo has long been recognized as a premier automaker with a legacy of safety and reliability. Now, adding a new layer to its reputation, the Swedish luxury car company is accelerating its journey toward electrification, with a bold vision to become the leading fully electric premium car brand by 2030.

To showcase this pioneering shift, Volvo is hosting the Recharge the Drive EV Test Drive Weekend from September 6 to 8, 2024 at Volvo Makati. This event offers an exclusive test drive opportunity for two leading models: the XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge.

This event offers a rare opportunity to explore Volvo’s electrification journey. Aside from test drives, special discounts will be made available.

Both the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge reflects Volvo’s legacy of pioneering innovation, safety, and sustainability. They not only showcase the brand’s advanced electric powertrain technology but also seamlessly integrate a suite of sophisticated features designed to elevate safety and enhance driver convenience.

Each vehicle is equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies like adaptive cruise control with Pilot Assist, Blind Spot Information System, 360-degree camera, traffic sign recognition, rear collision warning, run-off mitigation system, and slippery road alert system—all working together to ensure a secure and effortless driving experience. These features empower the driver to navigate with confidence, maintain awareness of their surroundings, and respond swiftly to potential hazards.

These systems not only align with Volvo’s dedication to safety but are also meticulously integrated into the vehicles’ overall engineering, complementing the advanced body structure and unique battery safety cage of both the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. This ensures protection for all occupants and other road users in the event of a collision.

This fully integrated approach is a testament to Volvo’s reputation of creating vehicles where safety, user experience, and engineering excellence are seamlessly combined. But the technological features extend beyond safety. Volvo also aims to improve user experience and enhance driving convenience by integrating Google’s automotive system.

Both models benefit from advanced navigation via Google Maps, real-time traffic updates, and hands-free assistance through Google Assistant. Google’s system allows for a more convenient driving experience by providing accurate directions, helping to avoid traffic, and enabling the driver to control different functions without taking their hands off the wheel.

Volvo also equipped both models with Android Auto, allowing you to listen to music, make phone calls, get directions, and use car-adapted apps from an Android device. Similarly, Apple CarPlay offers the same convenience, enabling you to listen to music, make phone calls, get directions, send, and receive messages, and use Siri—all while staying focused on your driving

These features are further enhanced by automatic over-the-air updates, ensuring that the software remains up-to-date without the need to visit the service center, adding another layer of convenience for the user.

While these two models share a strong foundation, they cater to different preferences. The XC40 Recharge, with its recognizable crossover design, is ideal for those who appreciate familiarity in their driving experience while stepping into the future of electric mobility. It boasts up to 537 kilometers of electric range and 408 horsepower.

On the other hand, the C40 Recharge is tailored for those who seek a sportier look and aerodynamic efficiency, featuring a sleek coupe-like roofline. It offers a slightly higher electric range of 549 kilometers and the same 408 horsepower.

Both the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge support fast charging (10 to 80 percent charge using a 200-kW DC charger), allowing the driver to spend more time on the road and less time charging.
