2025 Philippine-Spec Honda Civic RS e:HEV: What We Know So Far

Honda Cars Philippines has previewed the new Civic RS e:HEV at its One Honda Electrification event. The first-ever electrified Civic, it gains a revamped exterior and enhanced interior together with the most powerful hybrid offering in its segment.

Full details will be revealed at its official public debut at the Philippine International Motor Show in October, but before then, the Japanese carmaker has revealed several key features.

First up is the powertrain. New for 2025 is the 2.0-liter e:HEV system mated to an E-CVT. Also found in the CR-V RS e:HEV, it puts out a combined 184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque making it the most powerful Civic variant as well as the most powerful compact hybrid beating both the Mazda3 and Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid.

Surprisingly, Honda is able to do something on the Civic RS e:HEV that they couldn’t do on the CR-V RS e:HEV: provide a spare tire. Aside from being smaller than the CR-V’s (1.05-kWh versus 1.4-kWh), it’s situated in a structure between the rear seats and trunk.

Exterior changes include a restyled grille with hexagonal inserts as well as matte black 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/40R18 tires. As range-topping RS trim, it keeps the same gloss-black accents found on the door handles, mirror, and rear spoiler. The full color line-up will be revealed next month, but Honda Cars Philippines has so far confirmed two colors for the Civic RS e:HEV: Ignite Red Metallic as well as the new image color, Canyon River Blue Metallic.

Inside, the Civic RS e:HEV stays close to the current model but adds more aesthetic differentiation. These include red accents that surround the full-length dash insert. The same red accents are found on the leather/suede seats.

Confirmed for the Philippine-spec Civic RS e:HEV is Google Services built right into the 9-inch infotainment screen. With no built-in SIM, users will have to tether their smartphones to gain access to Google services and apps such as Google Maps and YouTube. This is in addition to an updated version of Honda Connect which adds advanced telematics functionalities to the compact sedan.

Other key features include 8-way powered driver’s seat (manual adjustment for the front passenger), dual zone climate control with rear vents, USB Type C ports on both the front and second rows, wireless device charger, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

In terms of safety, the Civic RS e:HEV has Honda Sensing as standard, bundling Collision Mitigation Braking (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Auto High Beam (AHB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF), and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). It also Lane Watch as well as front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera.

Honda Cars Philippines is keeping the pricing of the Civic RS e:HEV a closely guarded secret for now, but they did confirm that it will be “higher than the current Civic RS Turbo.” Since the current turbocharged Civic tops out at P 1,775,000, the Civic RS e:HEV will likely breach the P 1.8-million mark (we think it’ll be priced at P 1,825,000). With no pricing, dealers are not accepting reservations just yet.

  1. Civic RS e:HEV is expected to be priced at 1.9 Million Pesos which is on the same price range as the higher end variants of the GWM Haval H6 Hybrid and Corolla Cross GR Sport
HCPI should bring in the V e:HEV variant of the Civic and priced it around 1.7 Million Pesos.

    1. And that's why we're barely seeing civics on the road these days. These things are overpriced as hell!!!

    2. The price only makes it more prized for me. I don't mind paying a little more to have a better crowd or avoid lowlife stereotypes.

    3. The high sticker price only makes it more exclusive - which I prefer. I don't wanna be associated with the low-end strata on the road anyway.
