New 2025 Geely Coolray To Launch 2nd Week September, Priced Starting At P 1.199M

The wait is almost over. Geely, now under the management of Geely Automobile International Corporation (GAIC), is set to introduce the new 2025 Coolray by the second week of September. Dealers nationwide are now accepting reservations.

The new Coolray is powered by the NordThor 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 174 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. Power is routed through the front wheels via a new-generation 7-speed wet-type dual clutch automatic. This new powertrain, Geely says, improves not just outright performance, but fuel efficiency as well. The BMA platform, meanwhile, has been enhanced for improved stability and ride.

Design features of the 2025 Coolray include a larger, more aggressive grille and air inlet, “Energy Matrix” LED headlights, and Tomahawk-style 18-inch alloy wheels with sport calipers. At the back, it gets new angular LED taillights joined by a full-width lightbar. The tailgate’s also been changed with a new position for the number plate. Red accents, a rear spoiler, diffuser, and quad tailpipes complete the changes.

To top all of it off, a new color—Purple Prism (lead photo) joins the line-up.

Inside, it has a leather-clad multi-function steering wheel, a shift-by-wire gear selector, wireless charger, rhythmic ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, and a monolithic-style gauge cluster that combines a 10.25-inch display for the driver and a 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen for infotainment. It will be the first Geely model to offer standard Apple CarPlay (still no Android Auto though).

In terms of safety, the 2025 Coolray is equipped with lane departure warning, blind spot detection, automated parking assist (parallel and perpendicular), a 540-degree HD panoramic display system that doubles as a 4-way HD digital video recorder, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

“We are proud to bring the new Coolray in the Philippines. This flagship model that introduced the Geely brand to the Philippine market back in 2019 has captured the hearts of many Filipinos. We are honored to offer it anew with all its upgraded key features that will power-up every drive,” says Head of Geely Philippines, Mr. Will Wan.

Although Geely Philippines has yet to reveal the official prices, sources say it will come in two variants—the Coolray Premium and Coolray Sport. The Coolray Premium will be priced at P 1,199,000, while the Coolray Sport caps off the line-up at P 1,299,000.

  1. Sir Uly, will there be adaptive cruise and autonomous emergency braking as part of the ADAS?

    1. Some are saying it has, some are saying it hasn't. Geely PH hasn't released the full specs yet.

  5. The engine and powertrain might be new but its not all new as it looks basically the same as before, at best a refresh.

    1. New front and rear ends, new interior, new engine. Heavy refresh or all-new. We'd call it all-new. But that's our terminology.

    2. UPDATE: Geely PH wants to refer to the 2025 Coolray simply as the "new Coolray." They dropped all reference to the word, "all-new."

So there. Article has been updated.

  6. All-new Coolray? Not facelifted?

    1. Heavily facelifted. I'd call it all-new, but so far no word if Geely PH will refer to it as the second-generation model.

    2. Then that's not all new

    3. Agree to disagree. But let's wait for how Geely PH officially calls it, okay?

    1. yes the Lynk & Co 06 Hyper Core+ - based on FB group this "new" Coolray is lacking some standard features hindi daw yung international variant yung dinala sa Pinas and given that the Coolray & Lynk & Co 06 is basically cousin using the same BMA Platform

But wala pang name re-call yung Lynk & Co as brand or model so I think people will still buy the Coolray - just my two cents

  10. "Heavy refresh" is ok.... I wouldn't use "all new" as "personal terminology" if the whole side panel is obviously a carry over from the previous model.

Id gave it a pass if it's 80% rebody. Like what Ford most of the time does.

  11. This is a face-lift. For sure enterprising people will sell kits to convert old to newish soon.

    1. This one uses different body panels in the front and rear so I doubt you'll see one.

    2. The new panels are usually just plug and play into the old frame. So facelift kits will definitely happen with this.. though the market will be much smaller than facelift kits for other more popular makes.

  12. L&C 06 is the the better Buy. It's got everything you need ADAS. With same power train with the Coolray sport but the 06 ticks all the boxes with more BHP 181 And premium feel.

    1. Base variant of the Lnyk and Co 06 don't have ADAS 🤣
1.6 Million Peso price tag of the high end variant of Lynk and Co 06 is steep even if they give away 100,000 Peso cash discount for it.

  13. All new the management. So how's the service now?

  14. The good thing about chinese cars is that when they do refresh and updated models , even the engines and trannies are new. Unlike japs cars who keeps on slapping their updated models with 20 year old engines..

    2. You make it sound like that's a good thing. New engines and transmissions = new set of problems

    3. Standards and demands of car buyers in China are way much higher than in SEA region

  15. No AEB on the New Coolray as GAIC Philippines focused more on improving the interior, exterior, mechanical and engine of the New Coolray instead of focusing on adding on too much ADAS tech.
GAIC Philippines retained the old prices of the New Coolray despite heavily improving everything on the SUV.
