It wasn’t long ago when Seres made its official launch here in the Philippines. Now their official distributor here, QSJ Motors, has brought in its subsidiary brand DFSK. It stood for Dongfeng Sokon, since it started as a joint venture between Dongfeng and Sokon Group—the former name of Seres. DFSK is now wholly owned by Seres and they have three cars to serve as an introduction for the Philippine market.
2024 DFSK Candy
Another dessert-themed EV is now available in the Philippines. The DFSK Candy is a 3-door mini hatchback that’s available in three pastel colors (Blue, Green, and Pink) and is priced at P 658,000.
It boasts of a 16.8-kWh battery that can be fully charged in 4 to 5 hours, has 41 horsepower (30 kW) peak power, 100 Nm of torque, and a range of 220 kilometers. It also has airbags, ISOFIX tethers, ABS, EBD, Cruise Control, Parking Radar, and an HD Rear Camera. Its biggest advantage against the other dessert-themed EV is the DFSK Candy has an infotainment system in the middle of its dashboard.
2024 DFSK E5 PHEV
Going straight for the hotly contested segment, DFSK has a 7-seater offering in the E5 PHEV. This Plug-In Hybrid has a combined range of 1,150 kilometers and 100 kilometers of pure EV range. It’s available in two variants starting at P 1,580,000 for the Deluxe while the higher Ultimate trim is at P 1,880,000.
It uses a 1.5L engine together with its electric motors and a 17.52-kWh battery that can get full in four hours. Power is at 176 horsepower (130 kW) while torque is up to 300 Nm.
Highlight amenities include Advanced Driver Assistance System, Dual-Screen Infotainment System, Panoramic Sunroof, and 12-speaker Surround Sound System.
2024 DFSK EC75 EV Van
After aiming at the entry and mid-level segments, DFSK turned its attention to the commercial category with their EC75 EV van priced at P 1,450,000. This is a 2-seater van that features a huge seven cubic meters cargo capacity which can be accessed from both sides and the rear.
Powering this cargo van is a 95 horsepower (70 kW) motor paired to a 50.38-kWh battery that can go up to 310 kilometers on a single charge. There’s also front airbags, wireless charging, and a fleet management system.
Apart from the EVs, there are two more cars shown in their price list flyers. There’s the Fengon 500 that has a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine and CVT priced at P 858,000. Last is the Glory 330S, a 7-seater that’s also powered by an ICE but has a 5-speed manual and priced lower at P 680,000. No word yet on when they will be officially unveiled.
