Go All-Electric With The 2024 JAC Ytterby For Just P 1.195M


JAC Philippines is putting the pressure on other battery electric vehicles (particularly the similarly-styled Ora 03 aka Good Cat) with the launch of the 2024 Ytterby. This full-electric hatchback hits JAC Philippines showrooms starting September 27, 2024.

For the Philippine market, the Ytterby will come in two variants: the Air 405 and Pro 505 with the number suffix connoting its max range. The Ytterby Air 405 is priced at P 1,195,000, while the Ytterby Pro 505 is priced at 1,320,000.

Both variants are powered by a single electric motor with either 94 (Air 405) or 134 (Pro 505) horsepower. In terms of torque, they produce either 135 Nm (Air 405) or 175 Nm (Pro 505). Battery capacity is pegged at either 41-kWh (Air 405) or 51.5-kWh (Pro 505).

Within a mere 30 minutes, the DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 30 to 80 percent capacity. Home charging, using the supplied 7-kW charger takes between 7.5 to 9 hours, depending on the specific variant. The Air 405 uses the GBT plug standard, while the Pro 505 uses the CCS Type 2.

Beyond impressive range and usable power, the Ytterby uses JAC’s 9-in-1 electric drive system that integrates nine systems into one single unit resulting in 94 percent efficiency and a 40 percent weight reduction. In fact, JAC promises 10 km/kWh and interior/trunk space comparable to a battery electric vehicle a size larger.

The Ytterby’s “Bubble Aesthetics Design” results in a striking exterior with rounded and soft contours. This is complemented by a spacious, comfortable interior bathed in natural light from the expansive 1.45-m panoramic skylight, constructed of laminated Low-E glass, enhancing temperature and energy management while adding an open, airy feel. Tri-color petal wheels add a touch of flair, while the concealed electric door handles and electrically folding exterior mirrors enhance its sleek profile.

JAC prioritizes safety with the All-New Ytterby. The vehicle boasts a five-star crash safety rating, a zero thermal runaway honeycomb battery, six airbags, and seatbelt-off warning. It also comes with a 3-in-1 intelligent braking system, and a tight turning radius of 4.95 meters ensure an efficient and agile driving experience. For the PRO 505, Level 2 Assisted Driving further enhances safety with advanced driver-assistance systems.

Tonette Lee, Brand Head of JAC Philippines, emphasizes that the All-New Ytterby offers exceptional value compared to other compact EVs and internal combustion engine vehicles in its segment. Available exterior colors include Beige, Purple, Blue, White, and Gray.

  5. Prices of JAC Ytterby EV are directly aimed at the Dongfeng Nammi,Vinfast VF5 and GWM ORA 3 which is on the same category and same price ranges.

  6. Why the heck did they make CCS Type 2 Plugs an exclusive "feature" of the Pro? It goes against the spirit of CCS Type 2 being the standard EV plug in our country. The government should compel EV distributors to only import units already outfitted with said standard or lose their EV tax perks as a consequence.

    1. We already adopted the CCS Type 2 standard as of this year. But yeah...to your point...there's no fine or hard requirement from car makers to adopt the CCS Type 2 standard here. That's why a lot of the Chinese brands locally still use the GBT plug.
