Bet you didn’t see this one coming. Of all the vehicles that could get the off-road treatment, you probably didn’t think of the Ioniq 5, right? Well, that’s exactly what happened when Hyundai launched the Ioniq 5 XRT.
Built (so far) for the U.S. market, the Ioniq 5 XRT adds off-road capability and a more rugged appearance to the Hyundai EV. Changes include a suspension lift (+23 mm) and all-terrain 235/60R18 tires. This bumps up the approach and departure angles to 19.8 degrees and 30 degrees, respectively (from 17.5 and 25.4).
Together with the new running bits, Hyundai has also given the Ioniq 5 XRT unique front and rear ends with “etched digital camouflage” cladding. Topping it all off are numerous black accents (window trim surround, mirror, side sills, badges) and wheels.
Inside, the Ioniq 5 XRT has all-weather floor mats and H-Tex seating surfaces, a type of synthetic leather with a model-specific pattern and logo.
The rest of the Ioniq 5 XRT package mirrors the refreshed Ioniq 5 which gets a larger battery (63 kWh to 84 kWh from 58 to 77.4 kWh), restyled front and rear bumpers, and redesigned steering wheel, AC controls and infotainment system.
That's the final look? Lol, those blacked out claddings look like the ones you see on unreleased car camos.
