Chery’s global automotive brands—Omoda & Jaecoo have official arrived in the Philippines. The first batch of Omoda 5 crossovers have rolled off the port, signaling a major step in the carmaker’s expansion goals. The stage is also set for its flagship showroom to open in Alabang in the fourth quarter along with several other locations nationwide.
The Omoda 5 and Omoda 5 EV (now called the Omoda E5) comprise the first batch of vehicles. Both are designed with the “Art in Motion” aesthetic and include cues such as the seamless matrix grille, 18-inch black alloy wheels, and the unmistakable fastback profile.
With a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, the Omoda5 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the Omoda E5 with its 61-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) provides a maximum range of 430 kilometers. It can also be charged from 30 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes.
The Omoda 5 and Omoda E5 will be available in Omoda & Jaecoo dealerships, scheduled to open starting in September. These dealerships are strategically located in Alabang, Pasig, Manila, Quezon City, Ortigas, Calamba, and Iloilo.
In the meantime, buyers can test drive and pre-order both vehicles through its mall displays happening at SM Aura Premier, Ayala Mall Feliz, Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, Ayala Malls Glorieta, Evia Lifestyle Center, and Ayala Alabang Town Center, starting mid-September.
The first 100 buyers will also receive a special package care from Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines.
“The arrival of these vehicles is the first step in solidifying the presence of Omoda & Jaecoo in the Philippine market. The Omoda 5 and Omoda E5 aim to give Filipinos a taste of automotive engineering that’s unique to Omoda & Jaecoo,” said Marco Chen, Country Director of Omoda & Jaecoo Motor Philippines Inc. “To exhibit our commitment to bringing the DNA of our brand’s innovation to the Philippines, we’re also excited to announce that other Omoda & Jaecoo cars such as the Omoda 3, Omoda 7, and Jaecoo J6 are also scheduled to arrive in the Philippines. The arrival date and pricing of these models will be announced soon.”
Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines offers a 7-year or 200,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty—among the longest in the country, while its engines carry a 10-year or 1-million-kilometer warranty. The brand has also teamed up with logistics company DB Schenker to host the vehicles’ spare parts in a local warehouse.
