Are premium off-roaders the next big thing in the car industry? That seems to be the case as more contenders are coming into the country. The ROX 01 is one such car and it boasts of a powerful hybrid system, long EV-only range, and very premium appointments in the cabin. It’s not surprising that it starts at P 4,288,000.
Its aesthetic is something that we’ve definitely seen before. It has a bulky rectangular shape, emphasized further by the straight lines employed all over the vehicle. What makes it distinct is its unique logo, and the sleek headlights that complement the edges of the car. Some colors, like the white one, have body-matched color for its grille frame that further makes it distinct. The Sports trim rolls on 20-inch all-black wheels matched to ‘All Terrain’ tires while the Luxury has 21-inch two-tone wheels with ‘Four Season’ tires.
Open the doors and you’ll be greeted to a plush modern cabin. You can choose between three interior colors - brown, white, and black. There’s a 12.3-inch for the instrument cluster, a laptop-sized 15.7-inch screen for the infotainment touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay (Mirroring for Android), and a 9-inch monitor as the rearview mirror. Sound is delivered via a 14-speaker HiFi system. The dashboard also has a very clean layout thanks to lack of buttons, with controls all in the infotainment touchscreen. Cooling is taken care of by the three-zone automatic climate control with humidity sensor.
The second row will greet you with aviation-style seats as standard. The third row is a choice of 3-seater for Sport, and 2-seater for Luxury. The second-row aviation seats also have 8-way power adjustment with heating and massage. There’s also a 15.7-inch monitor for the occupants that can be folded up. They also have their own automatic climate control, charging ports, and LED reading light.
Poised as a premium off-roader, the ROX 01 is equipped for the unpaved path. It has a 700 mm wading depth, 22.2-degree approach angle, 25.1-degree departure angle, 45-degree climb angle capability, 19.7-degree ramp angle, can pass through a cross-shaft up to 600 mm, has 5 ROX Modes (Snow, Mud, Rock, Sand, Water), and Underbody Protection. The Sport trim builds up on this and has additional Chassis Protection, Trail Camping Set at the cargo area, Step board, and Roof Rack.
What powers the ROX 01 is a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired to two electric motors. Combined, it has a total output of 469 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque (front is 204 horsepower, 340 Nm; rear is 272 horsepower and 400 Nm). Then there’s a 56.01-kWh battery that can propel the car up to 235 km on batteries alone, or up to 1,115km with the engine activated thanks to a 70-liter fuel tank.
It’s also fitted with the latest ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Control, Blind Spot Detection, and Door Opening Warning, among others.
The new ROX 01 is available in Gray, White, Silver, and Green. Prices start at P 4,288,000 for the Luxury trim while the Sport is at P 4,388,000. There will be a P 100,000 discount until the end of September 2024. It comes with a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, 8-year warranty for the batteries, and a wall box charger.
Rox Motor is distributed in the Philippines by Transcorp Incorporated.

Unfamiliar brand, its from what country?
ReplyDelete400k - 500k price difference with the LC Prado. Chinese luxury and tech vs Japanese reliability and tech. The choice is obvious if you can get one.
ReplyDeleteToo expensive comparing it with domestic China prices. should be below 3 million
ReplyDeleteAgree price is too high
DeleteThis vehicle is still taxed a lot as it loses its subsidy from Chinese government when sold and exported overseas according to its importer and dealer
DeleteThey need to make money from it too
GWM Tank and Jetour T2 are 50% CHEAPER, though they are petrol fedd. And this unknown brand is in the level of Toyota PRADO... My 2 cents
ReplyDeleteEV charging using GBT, thats a dealbreaker.
